Die Vogelwarte Rossitten in Rossitten auf der Kurischen Nehrung war eine Gründung von Johannes Thienemann im Jahre 1901, unterstützt durch die Deutsche Ornithologische Gesellschaft und durch die Universität Königsberg,
Das Institut mit den Arbeits- und Geschäftsräumen der Vogelwarte befand sich in einer geräumigen Villa
in Nachbarschaft zur Kirche. 1931 wurde daneben in der Kirchstraße ein Museum für Besucher in einem
holzverschalten Neubau eröffnet, mit benachbartem Freigelände.

I'm working on turning our living room into a part-time studio for the winter, so today I did some experimenting. Setting this up with a baby strapped to my chest and these two monkeys tearing the house apart all morning was a challenge, so I'm really happy I ended up with nice photos for the effort!

King of the Bongo - Robbie Williams
55 days to go... it's getting closer. Went for a walk around South Melbourne markets when I came across our friendly neighbourhood buskers. I think you might have seen them a few times on My 365. Anyway I had my 28-300mm lens, so I thought I'd go in close today.
Haven't used this lens in a while, and although it seems like a really good zoom range, I've got to admit, the Sigma 28-300mm lens really takes a long time to focus. So I had to do most of today's shots like this, on manual focus. I knew there was a reason I didn't use the lens as much.
Post processing-wise, I used 5 exposures from a single shot for HDR. And here's the result. More tomorrow.
PS. I know that's not a bongo he's playing, it's a triangle... hahaha, ok it's a Djembe, a really small one.
Northern Blue Caetano Algarve bodied Volvo B10M 310, LIJ 749 (ex-F 870 TNH) was new to The Kings Ferry, Gillingham before passing to Blackburn Transport (#324) from whom it was acquired and is pictured parked in Fleetwood.
Thanks to JerryJ at cloudynights, this is a Cessna 310!
It passed overhead while I was attempting to take pictures of a recalcitrant hummingbird. :-)
