Ambassadeursconferentie 2016: Voor Nederland, wereldwijd
In de week van 28 maart t/m 1 april zijn de Nederlandse ambassadeurs, consuls-generaal en permanente vertegenwoordigers bij internationale instellingen in Nederland voor de jaarlijkse ambassadeursconferentie.
Programma
De conferentie vindt plaats op 29 en 30 maart. Op dinsdag hebben de ambassadeurs ontmoetingen met ministers, Kamerleden, bedrijven en maatschappelijke organisaties. Kim Putters van het SCP bespreekt met de ambassadeurs de sociale staat van Nederland o.b.v. de nieuwste resultaten uit het Continu Onderzoek Burgerperspectieven, dat op 29 maart verschijnt.
Woensdag staat in het teken van economische diplomatie. De ambassadeurs zijn te gast in de Fokker Terminal in Den Haag, waar ze door onder andere Hans de Boer van VNO-NCW worden bijgepraat over de Nederlandse economie. Daarna hebben de ambassadeurs speeddates met ondernemers die naar het buitenland exporteren of dat willen gaan doen en daarbij hulp en advies verlangen van ambassades.
Op donderdag 31 maart en vrijdag 1 april hebben de ambassadeurs elk hun eigen programma, met onder andere thematische sessies, regioconferenties en persoonlijke afspraken met bedrijven, kennisinstellingen en maatschappelijke organisaties.
Diplomatie
Diplomaten doen hun werk in het besef dat de ontwikkelingen in de wereld impact hebben op het dagelijkse leven in Nederland en dus vragen om een krachtig buitenlandbeleid. Of het nu gaat om de instabiliteit aan de grenzen van Europa, Nederlanders in nood, of de handelscontracten waar onze economie op draait; het is de opdracht van onze diplomaten wereldwijd om steeds de Nederlandse belangen te behartigen.
Nederland heeft 107 ambassadeurs, 25 consuls-generaal en 10 zogeheten Permanente Vertegenwoordigers bij internationale organisaties zoals de EU, de VN en de NAVO. Meer informatie is te vinden op www.ambassadeursconferentie.nl
30. novembrī Jaunsardze atzīmēja 30. gadadienu, jaunsargiem, jaunsargu instruktoriem un Jaunsardzes centra darbiniekiem dodoties svinīgā gājienā no Pulkveža Oskara Kalpaka pieminekļa līdz Brīvības piemineklim, lai kopā noliktu ziedus. No Brīvības pieminekļa gājiena dalībnieki devās uz svinīgo svētbrīdi Doma baznīcā.
30. novembrī arī notika Jaunsardzes kustības 30. gadadienai veltīts svinīgs pasākums, kurā piedalījās aizsardzības ministrs Artis Pabriks un Nacionālo bruņoto spēku komandieris ģenerālleitnants Leonīds Kalniņš.

I have gotten in the habit, time permitting, of heading out at sunset to find a photo.
I am really enjoying it. I drive around until something catches my eye. Today it was an abandoned barn.
This was my first edit with PS9 . I hate the crop tool. I much prefer the crop tool in iphoto. As for the rest? Well.......I have much to explore !
In our garden, our beautiful tree is finally flowered. Taking the opportunity, some bees and bumblebees go around it.

Toby's first ever icecream. The look on his face on the top right pretty much sums up his take on the whole experience. He thought it was totally ludicrous! He would giggle and then shudder and then giggle a bit more. Eventually the entire top half broke off and fell on the floor, at which point my carefully composed photographs went to crap because I was worried about him walking melted icecream through the house.
I can't believe there's only one day left! I have loved doing it this year! I remember last year I really struggled in the second half of the month, but this year I've loved each and every day. I'm going to miss it. But not enough to attempt the 365, lol.
