I created this Photostream in 2017 for the purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, as otherwise they would just remain in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.

Philippe Allard parasitera l’architecture du bâtiment abandonné du 1396 St-Patrick par la répétition d’un objet communément lié à ce genre d’édifice : la chute à déchet. Par la répétion de cet objet, il orchestrera une anomalie greffée au construit et redéfinissant le paysage urbain. Les références quotidiennes étant bouleversées, les passants et automobilistes seront directement interpellés par l’aspect surréel de l’oeuvre. La signification première de l’objet répété des centaines de fois, sera complètement détourné par la répétition excessive et l’installation investira alors l’imaginaire du public autant que l’espace physique et le paysage urbain. S’emparant de l’horizon, les éléments accumulés formeront une sorte de texture urbaine au même titre qu’un mur de brique, une voûte de pierres ou même une série de fenêtres alignées sur une façade, mais la lecture que l’on pourra faire de ces éléments sera beaucoup moins banale.

  

De toutes les fenêtres du bâtiment coulera des masses de cylindres jaunes. Cela ressemblera étrangement à un débordement de matières organiques ou à une maladie architecturale non identifiable conférant au bâtiment une atmosphère d’ironie insolite. De toute évidence, ce bâtiment n’est pas en train de se faire rénover à outrance. Que ce passe-t-il ?

  

Bachelier en design graphique de l’UQAM, Philippe Allard trace un parcours de création en installations de grande dimension. Depuis une dizaine d’années, Il a fait parti de plusieurs expositions ayant à cœur les interventions In situ.

  

Il a réalisé plusieurs commandes d’œuvres publiques et privées. Il fut lauréat du concours de la Place des Arts de Montréal en 2009 et a réalisé sa première sculpture de la politique d’intégration à l’architecture à Laval à l’été 2013. Il a participé à la 5e Biennale de Marrakech en mars 2014. »
