Canadian National train 324 crosses the trestle at Alburgh, VT with the EJ&E heritage locomotive CN 3023 in charge while two anglers fish for bass along the pilings.
This was the mating or rut season for these beautiful animals. In the fall, the males begin to gather their females (harems) for breeding. People are warned to keep their distance as they can be very aggressive and unpredictable at this time. Injuries have occurred and cars have been damaged. One almost touched our car as he ran right in front while we sat by the side of the road. He was so focused on chasing a female and you could just feel the energy as he passed. An incredible but a little scary experience. Taken in Jasper National Park, Alberta.

I had a report that CN 3023, the EJ&E Heritage unit, was around Kirk Yard. I checked out Kirk and it wasn't there, so I headed to the Whiting Branch and as I exited the Indiana Toll Road at Cline Avenue I come face to face with the unit by the EC Dog House! 3023 will sit here most of the day waiting on a crew, so was seen by plenty of railfans today!
