The 7 Tilden making the last trip back towards Eagle Mills before the 3 Tilden crew would take over.
For years I've been saying that California has one of the most disappointing autumns that I've ever encountered. Perhaps that's because I'm comparing our two trees (total) that change color within 10 miles of us to the falls I experienced as a kid in New England. Well, this proves nothing, but at end of our street is a native tree that produces these leaves, and they all fall in two days. So, even what color we have provides a two-day autumn. It's not much, but what can you do? (Besides, no rain since last February and the temperature today was 82°!)

LS&I U30Cs 3000 and 3009 run light back from Partridge after delivering all-rail loads to CN. The snow covered hill in the distance is part of the shuttered Empire mine's overburden disposal area. At Eagle Mills Junction this power set will hang a left instead of a right due to the derailment.
Unloading cement is a slow process at the moment as the main pump is out of order, the back up can only suck off one hundred tons an hour compared to the three hundred for the main one so the ships are alongside for longer.....

The last two running U30C's on the LS&I roll around the corner at Eagle Mills Jct. with the 7 Tilden as fog blankets everything. The #3003 was stored serviceable this winter but it appears it is being used for parts to keep these two going.
