Actually I don’t really consider one animal to be my favourite over all, I like many of them… elephants, giraffes, cats, unicorns (;)), dogs, etc. etc. But I think those anteaters are funny looking, with their long nose. And besides that, their first 3 letters in the name are similar to mine.

p.s. actually I can only draw from something I see: either a scenery that’s around me or a photo I look at. I suck in drawing from memory. So since anteaters don’t walk around here, this is from a photo of course. thanks, google.

Yesterday's three sketches must have taken something out of me...I just threw this together and had that ugly attitude of "I don't care." But am letting you see me on my worst day...ha! I really enjoy sports on TV, but don't go to any games anymore...Just support my local high school teams by cheering them on after I read the reports in the newspaper, and always root for the Razorbacks...love those Hogs....hummmroot those hogs, is that a pun?
EDM 30 Draw a chair or anything else you feel like.
I did this last summer. It brought up a lot of emotion for me. My perfectionism was beating me up, and I felt really embarrassed about this piece. An art coach gave me the assignment to show this and other sketches in my book to 10 random people, including people I didn't know. It really helped me, but I still can feel some of those negative emotions when I look at this...and then another part of me likes the charm of it's imperfections.

I think I am a bit ahead, but I might be behind....whatever. One of the assignments was to draw anything that you'd like, and this fits that one too. This chair has been in the family since my parents married. It was in Mother's bedroom as I grew up, and was given to her by her mother in law,my grandmother . Originally it had a large woven roll around the top of the back, but it was torn and Mother took it off. I love it and hope it continues to be passed on in the family.
It's not a whole chair. In fact it is just a chair leg, but I felt that in order to do justice to the beautifully turned 'barley twist' that the leg deserved it's own closeup :)

I do not normally like to keep a lot in my pocket, but my home and car keys are essential.
I'm proud of myself for being able to draw all the days of June. As we say in Portuguese : "closing the month with a golden key".( In English is the equivalent to "end with a flourish.")

EDM #30...Draw a Chair...these are two of my favorites...the Stickley rocker was amongst the furnishings in a cabin purchased many years ago and now resides in the Great Room. It is the perfect fit for a reading chair. The chair on the right is a classic Eames chair. The wood is a beautiful teak and the fit is perfect. I love the lines of this chair. The walls in my house are this color!
