Well, I really wish I could have gotten some dirt into this composition, but I'll take it for the ambient.

For 52 Weeks of Pics 2014
Week 3: Smoke
Battling against the odds on the time factor (as well as the imagination factor!) so here's my humble offering for this week - I think this is the third year running that I've struggled with this theme.
I was so hoping to find a smoking bonfire or similar out and about on my travels this week, but not a whiff of wood or coal smoke anywhere! So back to basics with the birthday cake candle.
Week 3.
The moss head is constructed out of foam, dehydrated moss, and other floral pieces. I can upload the build process if people are interested. It took a couple of hours. Fortunately I found some hollow foam balls which was a total success. I keep looking at this picture and thinking people are going to think its photoshopped. That head is made by hand, I burnt my fingers about thirty times gluing the moss on the foam doing it so don't think that. Regardless, I was going to shoot this in the woods but couldn't find a location I really liked so I ended up using this wall instead. I liked the texture and weathering. I'll actually end up shooting something else here someday. Also, I made a flower head. So, prepare for that. It's a bit over the top.

This is a 100% manual classic Olympus OM-3 SLR film camera was introduced in 1983. It is considered to be the second rarest camera in the OM line up after the M-1. The OM-3 sold in smaller quantities than its electronic sister, the OM-4. This may be because the OM-1n remained in production and offered an alternative mechanical body for the OM system at a fraction of the price, albeit with less sophisticated metering.
After a relatively short production run, the OM-3 was discontinued in 1986.

Shame on me, I am the original owner of this fine camera, I have shot maybe 2 rolls of film with it and yet I managed to loose the cover on the T series flash socket.

this photo is a couple days late, i intended to do it on the 21st but i forgot/was lazy.

originally this was supposed to be a self portrait, but if i tried to move (ie, press the button and run into the spot) the backyard light would turn on. so i enlisted my sister to click the shutter for me, but all the photos turned out blurry and crooked XD so i had to take them :3 thanks for taking them though megan!

The main strobe was placed at around 120° from the camera-subject axis. The second strobe on the other side, creating a straight strobe-subject-strobe line. I used a small reflector with a diffusing material on the main flash to soften shadows just a little bit. Yongnuo triggers.
The SBT-3 (Scout Bomber Torpedo model 3) is a floatplane, designed to serve as a scout and as a torpedo bomber. It is used both on ships and on coastal bases, if provided with the necessary equipment. Armament consists of one 1,835 lb (832kg) aerial torpedo and a defensive light machinegun in the rear.
Just a fictional plane from the interwar period , inspired by this lovely bunch.
Hope you like it!

now three little monkeys sat on a coconut tree
discussing things has they are said to be
said one to the other, now listen you two
there is a certain rumour that cant be true
that man descended from our noble race
the funny idea is a big disgrace
no monkey ever deserted his wife
nor her baby and ruin her life
I said yeah... Monkey speaks his mind
and another thing you will never see
a monkey build a fence around a coconut tree
and let all the coconuts go to waist
forbidding all other monkeys to come and taste
now if i build a fence around this tree
starvation will cause you to steal from me
I said Yea... the monkey speaks his mind
here is another thing a monkey wont do
go out at night and get on a stew
or use a gun a club or a knife
to take another monkey's life
Yes man descended the worthless bum
but my god brothers from us he did not come
Yeah... The monkey speaks his mind

Charles arrives at Henry's house and he sees an A.R.G.U.S. vehicle already outside. He enters the house and he sees agents Michaels and Gunn covering up the body, with Mister Terrific analysing the place and Power Girl talking with Hank Heywood, aka Sarge Steel. Charles walks over to them before inspecting the body.
Charles: "Hank, I am so sorry for your loss."
Hank: "I could say the same for you, Doctor. For all of you."
PG: "Are you sure you're alright Sarge? You just lost your father."
Hank: "Gotta keep it professional now, Power Girl. It is of upmost importance that we find his killer as fast as possible. Mourning comes later."
Charles looks at Karen with a worried look.
Charles: "I'll leave you to it then."
Charles walks over to the agents and Mister Terrific.
Charles: "Agents. Michael."
LM: "Good evening Doctor. We are sorry for your loss."
Charles: "Thank you miss Michaels. I appreciate it. What do we have?"
MrT: "Multiple stab wounds, coming from his own kitchen knife. He probably wanted to protect himself, but it appeared he just chose his own murder weapon."
Charles walks over to the body and he lifts the cover.
Charles: "Hm. Stab wounds in the chest. Bruises all over his body. Fractured ribs. The old man still had some fight left in him."
MrT: "Was he talking about retiring to you too?"
Charles: "I believe I was the first one he told. Such a shame..."
Terrific looks at Charles and he sees a small tear dropping from his eye.
MrT: "It is okay Charles."
He clears his throat and whipes away the tear.
Charles: "We should get to work. Have you prepared your T-spheres already?"
MrT: "Wanted to let the agents do their work first."
DG: "You should be good to go."
MrT: "Thanks, mister Gunn."
As Michael launches his T-spheres, a car can be heard stopping in front of the house. Nate steps out of the car and he runs inside of the house.
NH: "No, no, no! Don't tell me it's true! Dad?!"
Hank: "I'm sorry, son. Your grandfather is dead."
NH: "I was gonna visit him tomorrow..."
Nate looks at his father who looks extremely cool under the situation.
NH: "What the hell are you doing?"
Hank: "What?"
NH: "You are doing nothing! Not even crying, not mourning! You're just standing there like some kind of big shot!"
Hank: "Watch your tone Nate."
NH: "Don't act all tough on me! Your dad was just murdered! My grandfather! SHOW SOME GODDAMN EMOTION!"
Hank: "I'm here working my ass off, to find his killer! You want to cry and mourn? Sure! Go ahead, and let me do something useful!"
PG: "Enough! Both of you!"
NH: "Screw you dad. Good luck with your investigation. If you need me, I'll be mourning my grandfather."
Hank doesn't even look at his son anymore as he leaves.
Hank: "Nothing to see people. Just get back to work."
Charles looks at Michael.
Charles: "Kids..."
MrT: "The kid lost his grandfather, he'll pull through. How is Pieter doing?"
Charles: "Fine. I told him he should interact with the other JSA children more."
MrT: "You sure? After what happened with Rick?"
Charles: "He has to make friends. He hasn't met Jack, Grant, Tom or Sandy yet. If he can make a good first impression on that front."
MrT: "That's true."
Charles: "And he is friends with Jesse, so that helps. I guess. I don't understand those modern ways anymore with Spacebook and Flapchat."
MrT: "You mean Facebook and Snapchat?"
Charles: "Those too."
MrT: "You've been getting old as well, Charles. Have you been thinking of retiring?"
Charles: "Sometimes. I don't have the speedforce, a magic helmet, connection to the Dreaming, or a mystical ring to keep me fit. Hell, I'm even blind. I have been thinking about it, Michael."
MrT: "What holds you back?"
Charles: "Pieter. He's not ready to take over yet."
MrT: "You want him to take over as Doctor Mid-Nite?"
Charles: "Who else?"
Hank: "We are all done here. I got orders that you took the body for a closer examination?"
MrT: "That is correct."
Hank: "Keep us updated."
MrT: "We will. Charles, are you coming too?"
Charles: "I'll stay here for a while. Collect some things, looking at everything for one last time."
PG: "Need me to help?"
Charles: "No, my dear. It's all fine. I also want to be alone for a moment."
MrT: "We understand. We'll prepare the body at the base."
Terrific and Power Girl head to the JSA base, as Doctor Mid-Nite stays behind, and sheds a few more tears for his fallen friend.
