With the Cardiff Half Marathon taking place in Cardiff, many bus services were being diverted during the morning of Sunday 2nd October (2016). Cardiff Bus services from parts of the west of the city - including routes 17 and 18 were being turned around at Canton between 9am and 11am. Here Cardiff Bus Enviro 400 CN65AAU is seen negotiating the turn from Wyndham Crescent into Cowbridge Road, ready to form a service for Ely.

she is playing with her balloon . . .
i wish we could all be as excited and happy about things so trivial . . .
i wish we all could be just kids !!
I think that is how God intended us to be, when he created us. Innocent and Pure, unaware of right and wrong, good and bad, just unspoilt spirits having fun !!
But we chose to have knowledge and reason, effectively spoiling the party, that he had planned for us . . .
Here we are, killing each other for no reason, pretending to be Adults, when we could have been playing happily in the most beautiful garden for eternity !!
I have always believed that God has made life very simple for us, and it is we who always complicate it . . .
I have created a Gallery that reflects this very thought that i strongly believe in A Child's Heart
I would also like to dedicate this shot to the memory of GANDHI, it is his birthday today (2nd October), i believe he had a child's heart too, i have heard that once in a meeting with Lord Mountbatten, he had carried with himself Goat Milk !! And requested him to have it, as it is very good for health.
I think only a child could think of taking goat milk for the Governor of India !!
Also i have got myself a brand new watermark and i love it !!

Magnus, Gary, and Josh put on an amazing display of the Battle of Agincourt, set up on the MLS. HistoryLUG's first display, it only took about 4 hours to complete and has around 500 figures.
My walk home from work takes me through the heart of Cardiff City centre, and past the Hilton Hotel where the All Blacks rugby team are staying during the Rugby World Cup. The atmosphere in the city today (Friday 2nd October) was really something quite special, with the streets full of All Blacks and Georgia supporters, ahead of their game in the Millennium Stadium. A truly wonder, carnival-like atmosphere, with a real sense of friendliness and fun, and an a journey home from work that made me feel proud to live in Cardiff.

My Favorite Paintings at Albertina Museum, Vienna
The renown Albertina Museum in Vienna, Austria was mostly valued for its graphic art collections, such as works by the incomparable Albrecht Dürer, whose ultra-realistic drawings and watercolors were so delicate that the museum only put reproductions on display, therefore, I refrain from citing his works as my favorite there.
Albertina Museum also had some really impressive oil paintings, amongst which, I was particularly enthralled by paintings by Max Beckmann and Paul Delvaux.
The Frau mit Katze (Woman with Cat) by German artist Max Beckmann was a stylish, understated yet highly erotically charged woman portrait, typical of his pre-Third-Reich oeuvre, without the unsettling sinister atmosphere permeated in his later works.
I was particularly enchanted by the sitters' self-satisfying langour, the marvelously subtle and bold interplays of orange, yellow, pale purple, green and black shades, and the sitter's slightly monumental bulk, which didn't take away any of her sensuality or her femininity.
Kaiser Maximilian I und die Kunst der Duerer-Zeit in Albertina Museum, Vienna showcased two incredible cycles of Triumph Procession of Kaiser Maxilimian I. - a water color cycle by Albrecht Altdorfer and a woodcut cycle by Hans Burgkmair the Elder. Albertina Museum informed us that "the extraordinary Triumphal Procession of Albrecht Altdorfer and his workshop, which will form the core of the exhibit. Of the original 109 large-sized parchment sheets with flamboyantly colourful representations of riders, magnificent chariots and landsknechts, sheets 49 to 109 are preseved in the Albertina and, compiled as a frieze, amount to a length of more than 54 metres." It was absolutely unforgettable. Though Hans Burgkmair's cycle was somewhat shorter and only in black and white, it was no less extraordinary...
Albertina Museum was also a living one and it kept collecting modern works. The most recognizable names included Chagall, Picasso and Munch, etc.
My Favorite Paintings at Albertina Museum, Vienna
My second favorite works was Belgian painter Paul Delvaux's Landschaft mit Lanternen (Landscape with Lanterns) - a mysterious cityscape which extended to landscape under cool moonshine, almost symmetrical, with a noble-looking woman stood at the foreground, looking into the goings-on on the receding away from the viewers, including two small figures in white, carrying a stretcher with a person enshrouded in white sheet, against the gently lit hills dotted with unfinished architectures, or strange gate-shaped structures, corresponding to the seemingly unfinished city structures in the foreground.
The cool atmosphere and the classical symmetry recalled The Ideal City by Piero della Francesca (?) though the mood of Delvaux's painting was much darker and more mysterious, even quite sinister, and the story was much harder to decode, thus even more fatally attractive.

A Guest Blog - "Amateur food porn from Austria and Italy"
Last month, my partner Steve and I traveled to Austria and Italy, the lands of bountiful. There, we were able to sample some incredible food - local dishes, coffee and cakes and gelati! We also saw many beautiful food in markets, though we didn't sample all of them, they were feasts to the eyes. Yesterday, Steve posted an entry on his "One Finger Typing" blog and he graciously agreed to guest post this blog. We share the credits to these photos.
"It is alarming and also nauseating to see Mr. Gandhi, a seditious middle temple lawyer, now posing as a fakir of a type well known in the east, striding half-naked up the steps of the viceregal palace, while he is still organizing and conducting a defiant campaign of civil disobedience, to parley on equal terms with the representative of the king-emperor."
- Winston Churchill, 1930
For Gandhi Jee
, simplicity was the way of life. When the British invited Gandhi for peace talks, Gandhi saw no particular reason to change his attire, which was same as millions of his fellow countrymen. Gandhi met with Lord Irvin with the advantage of having won a moral victory. "I have caused a great deal for trouble for your government. But as men, we can set aside our differences for welfare of the nation" he said to the immaculately dressed viceroy, on occasion of which Churchill is said to have made his infamous comments.
Churchill, who considered himself a true democrat constantly opposed granting freedom to India. In more ways than one, Gandhi was a much greater democrat, especially in believing in self-determination of people and the universal equality of mankind. Churchill was to be irritated further. The following year, Gandhi met face to face with Churchill during the Indian round table conference -- "...I have an alternative that is unpleasant to you" he told Churchill and his clan of imperialists. " India demands complete liberty and freedom...the same liberty that Englishmen enjoy... and I want India to become a partner in the Empire. I want to partner with the English people ... not merely for mutual benefit, but so that the great weight that is crushing the world to atoms may be lifted from its shoulders".
Winston Churchill loathed Gandhi. Gandhi loathed none.

The followiung is an extract from the Levens Hall web site
www.levenshall.co.uk/index.asp
Levens Park was originally a medieval deer park but was formally restructured as a recreational park around 1700 by Guillaume Beaumont with a great oak avenue, ancient yew trees, specimen trees and views of the river.
Beaumont’s contrasting designs for the - (Hall) - gardens and the park are particularly interesting to garden historians because they mark the change in fashion from a love of formality to an appreciation of nature in all its moods – something which the Lake District poet Wordsworth was also to explore.
Levens Park is home to a small herd of Norwegian black fallow deer and many Bagot Goats, a rare breed originally brought to this country at the time of Richard the Lion Heart. The river Kent is tidal as far as Levens Bridge, bringing sea-trout and salmon in season.
