Another photo of Luna, perhaps my best yet.
Samyang 500mm F/8 "preset" T-mount lens ($20 used on eBay last year!),
mounted on my Nikon D50 with a T-ring.
Exposure was 1/320th at F/8, and ISO200.
Significant post processing in Nikon Capture NX.
This is a 100% (1:1) crop of the original six megapixel image. Even a 500mm lens is way too short for prime focus photography of the moon.
Washington DC, March 24, 2018. A massive crowd here for the March for Our Lives Protest against the NRA and the absence of common sense gun laws in our country. The demonstration was sparked by students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School where 17 people were killed on Valentines Day by a shooter with an assault rifle.

The 2nd Amendment Cowboy is a modern tourist attraction along Route 66 on the west side of Amarillo. The business started as an RV park. Then, they added some pristine vintage Cadillacs to attract visitors to the nearby famous Cadillac Ranch. In 2014, they added this Muffler Man to cater to those who like the 2nd Amendment. At his feet is a story of the 2nd Amendment placed on a replica Texas Historic Marker. Plus, a couple of oversized revolvers has been added recently.
Nikon D600
Holga HPL-N pinhole lens
40mm focal length
30 second exposure
f/160(.25mm aperture)
ISO 800
The Holga vignettes substantially on the D600's full-frame FX sensor, but I rather like the effect.
I've found that in full daylight at high ISO (6400 to 25,600), the D600 can do handheld shots at 1/30 sec., quite a fun thing to play with! seconds
Bay Area Open Carry event in Walnut Creek, February 6, 2010 held at the Buckhorn Grill. Excellent food!
Perpetual smart phone documentary photography has achieved only a 66.666% market share.
Get to it, marketers!
The one guy in the middle DOES look ready to jump on the bandwagon...
The last guy may be one of the rare few immune to the indoctrinating brain waves that emanate from every new smart phone. Wi-Fi and 4G? Those are not the ONLY transmissions that your celly generates...
You may know the inculcating influence as "BlueTooth". And to better infiltrate the synapses and ensure brand loyalty, many users have taken to wearing powerful BlueTooth transmitters pressed tightly against the cranium, which simultaneously pipe soothing corporate anthems into the external acoustic meatus...
— at Reno Santarchy 2013
Handing out candy canes at the downtown Reno Nevada ice skating rink (at least until the bully with the official T-shirt showed up to spoil the harmless fun).
This was my first time shooting fire dancers/spinners at night. Some post processing was required to get the results seen here.
I used my Nikon D600 with a Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 "APO" macro lens with internal focus motor ($100 used on eBay).
I have a bunch of other shots of the firedancers in this set- check 'em out if'n ya like this sort of thang.
