SP-2H 205 was one of the last Dutch Neptunes to be retired in 1982. The old lady was parked close to the fence, stripped from parts (like the tip tanks) and finally scrapped on the spot.

216 behind the gate of De Kooy, the helicopter base near the city of Den Helder.

I hope this piece of navy history will survive for many years to come. But I'm not sure she will, as De Kooy is no longer in use by the navy but by the air force.

Here is a Neptune from 10 Squadron RAAF, taxying out for its display routine at the April 1973 Williamtown Air Show. Parked in the background can just be discerned the Huey's of SAR Flight Williamtown and 9 Sqn. Obviously this is an old print hence the quality.

Doubled my time on this to two hours of 1 and 3 min subs... Getting there... :)
