This is a new edited version of a dusk panorama taken at Capana Regina Margherita in summer 2015. I used actual technology from Adobe and made a mask for the sky in Lightroom so I was able to edit the sky separately. Merging 2 single shots was enough to get this panorama view. Some time ago, I prepared HDR pictures from 4 single shots to get one HDR. For this panorama I needed 2 HDRs , each made from 4 single shots - finally 8 shots to get processed and merged. In this case it was much easier by simply merging 2 shots.
Regarding the mountain scenery: At the left side we have Liskamm with Montblanc and Grand Jorasses behind., followed to the right by Breithorn and Matterhorn already in the center. At the right side Dent Blanche is dominating next to Grand Cornier, Obergabelhorn and Wellenkuppe.

Two hours after I arrived the clouds dissipated enough to see the snow covered San Gabriel Mountains (I was at the park along with dozens more photographers, this is an really popular location to take photos of the L.A. skyline in the winter)
Lots of wind during the rainstorms left the air crisp and clear.
This was taken with my 100-400mm telephoto at 325mm. AEB -2,0,+2. HDR Processed in Photomatix Pro and Photoshop Camera RAW. Sharpening in Topaz DeNoise AI.

Built in the 14th Century, St Michael's church is the oldest building in Betws-y- Coed. The church houses the fine stone effigy of Gruffydd ap Dafydd Goch, a Norman font, and many interesting features. Displays in the church tell its history, and the church yard with its majestic yew trees makes a tranquil resting place.
Today's edition of "Armchair Traveling During the Coronavirus Lockdown" takes me back to 5 years ago when we visited the Culloden Battlefield in Scotland.
This is the Leanach Cottage, and is the only building remaining from the time of the famous battle in which the Jacobites were soundly defeated in 1746. It continued to be occupied up until 1912, and is now maintained in its current condition, though visitors are no longer allowed inside. We walked the solemn battlefield which is a mass graveyard, peaceful and quiet on a cloudy day, accompanied by a historian who is steeped in the stories and mythology of Scottish history.
If you're a fan of the books and tv series "Outlander" you'll know about the tragic battle fought at Culloden.

A HUGE "Thank You" to ALL for commenting, visiting and for helping make this shot EXPLORED! :-)
Added to EXPLORE for Dec 6th 2008. Highest position: #12
While rushing around trying to get things ready for a craft show/sale here in University Place tomorrow, I had to make a point to stop and take a few shots of our Majestic Mountain, Mt. Rainier (or as those of us in Washington call it, "THE Mountain") with lenticular clouds hovering above it.
This is a hand-held, 3 exposure (-2, 0, +2) HDR that I changed to B&W. I rather like the results.
Today's edition of Armchair Traveling is from the day we spent on the Isle of Skye. Yesterday I showed an image from the ferry boat trip to the island. We rode for a while in a bus to the center of the island, the tiny hamlet of Sligachan, where we found misty conditions and a hotel pub (Seamus' Bar in the Sligachan Hotel) that had 400+ varieties of whiskey! Guess where we went after walking for a while across the misty, damp heather?
