We arrived in Winnipeg at dawn. Changing crews, and taking supplies gave us four hours at The Forks, a large park at the intersection of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.
Despite all the health issues going on, I did make it (with a LOT of help from David) to one of the highlights of my year: Alchemy: The Georgia Burn.
Well, I made it to PART of Alchemy. Instead of the full five days we were there for 23 hours and 45 minutes. Good enough, I say.
Here's one of many photographs I got of the Effigy on fire.

As we are knee deep in renovating our new house, we thought it would be rude not to take advantage of the opportunity of a day out to the National Home Improvement Show at Olympia. Not sure we found anything very useful, but it was nice to get out.
September 29, 273/366 (1734/1827)- Went out to St. Andrews State Park before sunrise to take some photos from the pier. I noticed this guy with a kayak like mine heading out to fish in the Gulf of Mexico. He added some interest to the sunrise (maybe 10 minutes away here) but then as I watched him he disappeared out in the gulf, out of my sight. I love my kayak and have been in some rough conditions, but I would be careful about going out that far!
