Al traino di un variopinto treno di container, la 186 284 in uso all'Impresa Ferroviaria Medway, transita presso Rovigo mentre effettua il TC 63123 da Padova Interporto a La Spezia Migliarina.

At the towing of a colourful train of containers, the 186 284 used by the railway company Medway, it transit at Rovigo while carrying out the TC 63123 from Padova Interporto to La Spezia Migliarina.

Qualche giorno fa la locomotiva prototipo 284.002, capostipite in Italia tra le diesel da treno Eurolight di Vossloh è stata trasferita da Reggio Emilia S.Croce a Sermide, deposito in carico a T>PER e DPO per motivi finora sconosciuti. Non sappiamo se la locomotiva -in eccellenti condizioni estetiche- giunta qualche anno fa in Italia e già provata da Trenitalia Cargo e successivamente trasferita a DPO, sarà oggetto di prove in linea o sarà trasferita in altro impianto.

La locomotiva, presentata alla stampa nel 2010, 2800 KW, 120 km/h nella versione merci e 140 nella versione passeggeri è una motrice diesel-elettrica in grado di circolare anche su linee ferroviarie in categoria C3, grazie al suo carico per asse inferiore alle 21t.

BNSF SD75M #284 leads a westbound military train at Park Moabi on the Seligman Sub.

A grouping of nebulae from the Sharpless catalog in the constellation of Monoceros. SH2-284 is the bright red nebula near centre of frame, the nebulae at top right are SH2-282 and 283. SH2-285 is the very small nebula over at the lower left near the edge of frame. SH2-284 was once considered to be a candidate for a supernova remnant but is now no longer thought to be one. However the faint red nebula lower left of SH2-284 and extending over to SH2-285 may be a SNR and has the designation SNR G213.0-0.6; it certainly looks like a plausible candidate.

This image was shot with a William Optics Redcat51 telescope and an ASI2600MC camera with an Optolong L-eXtreme filter. It is an integration of just 6 hours total exposure. All post-processing was carried out in PixInsight.

DPO 284002 stood at Reggio Emilia having just bought an intermodal in from Minucciano. Would depart shortly after to the Sidings having detached the G2000 at the rear.

Vossloh/Stadler 284 001 & 002 are both prototypes for the UK class 68 so share alot of similar features.
