The train is crossing the diamond with the ex P&LE New Castle Branch at OA Tower just West of the New Castle yard. The NKP 765 was dressed and lettered specially for these runs.

C&O 2765 leads a special from Orrville, OH to Pittsburgh, PA at CP43 in West Pittsburgh, PA on August 22, 1993. The NKP 765 was dressed and lettered specially for these runs. There was no chance of even attempting to chase this between New Castle and Pittsburgh, so I just picked a spot and waited for it. The train did stop at New Castle Yard, so there was always the opportunity to catch it there and then somewhere out on the road.

Here's another duck in the grass and sedges (or maybe spike-rushes) - same location and time as yesterday's Blue-winged Teal. The Gadwall drake isn't as colourful as most North American ducks, but its feather patterning and subtle markings are no less beautiful. Photographed from the rolling red Toyota blind.

Finally getting around to posting a few images from my trip to Tuolumne Meadows last week. Weather was awesome...although the smoke was pretty bad during the day. This is of Tenaya Lake in Yosemite National Park. Just a touch of a breeze to blur the stars reflecting on the lake.
