Inzwischen komplett von deutschen Gleisen verschwunden (abgesehen von einem Museumszug) ist die Unterbaureihe 628.2. Auch in den letzten Jahren schon waren sie nicht mehr oft anzutreffen, einzig in den Regionetzen Westfrankenbahn und Kurhessenbahn war der Bestand, nach dem Umbau der Steuerwagen zu Fahrradwagen, noch verhältnismäßig groß. Dazu gehörte auch der 628 252, welcher mir aufgrund der schwarz lackierten scheinwerfer besonders gefiel. Außerdem verfügte er (wie die meisten 628.2) noch über die alte Matrixanzeige aus den 1980er Jahren. Im Oktober 2016 war er auf dem Weg von Marburg nach Bad Laasphe, also auf einer seiner Stammstrecken. Nachdem er zwei Jahre später mit einem PKW zusammenstieß und ein weiteres halbes Jahr später einen Motorbrand hatte, steht er nun im Stillstandsmanagement Karsdorf.

An investment for a long-time friendship that stood the daunting waves of time as we grew together in SL. She is a fantastic person, caring, loving and joyful. We have seen good days and bad days in SL together. Seasons, Years everything changes but friendship always remains constant. We never wanted more nor we wanted less from our company.

I was sent on "wild goose chases" all over Florida, looking for Black-bellied Whistling-ducks.
On eBird I found a citing for them at Celery Fields. One of the rangers there sent me to Sarasota where he saw "'bout a hundred of 'em". When I got to Sarasota I found about 20,000...cars in a traffic jam. Next, a field ranger said the ducks "hang out in a pond by the house in Arvada". Of course...empty pond. I had already found none at Myaka State Park, on the way to Arvada.
On the other side of the State, we met Paul (D200-Paul) and his wife Angela at Merritt Island NWR...no Whistling-ducks. I had a conversation with a lady and gave her birding info about Magee Marsh in Ohio, and she gave us her "favorite spot for Whistling-ducks only a mile away".
We went to Chain of Lakes County Park, didn't see anything, and were about to leave. My wife said, "What are those things across the pond?"
They were Black-bellied Whistling-ducks, just as the lady said.

La 252.013 negociando al frente del tren Arco procedente de Bilbao, con destino Vigo, la curva de avanzada de la estación olívica con la luz del atardecer bañando la enjuta composición.
Nótese el contraste de colores entre la locomotora y el coche de pasajeros, siendo una de las últimas 252 en portar la decoración de Grandes Líneas sin algún tipo de anagrama comercial.
