“This isn’t good. This is so not good.”

It’s been six hours since the assault on Iron Heights. Somehow, the security system was knocked out before whoever attacked them even arrived. Eight dead guards. Four escapees. Cold, Heatwave, Weather Wizard, and...Trickster. I feel the skin on the back of my neck bristle under my suit just by thinking about him. Never even realized what happened until this morning when I saw the news. I’m so exhausted; I’ve been pulling double shifts as Flash trying to hunt down Boomerang’s niece. Now it’s nine o’clock, and I’m just now arriving to investigate. Perfect.

I rush through the prison to the block that was affected. There’s all sorts of debris spattered everywhere, and some blood splashes present near white outlines of bodies. My eyes scan the scene until I bump into-

“D-Barry!” I gulp in surprise. There he is, cheery as ever. A girl stands near him, marking off evidence. Oh my...it's my mom. She's a cop here?

Barry stands up and smiles at me.

“Flash! Hey there. Fastest girl alive, and you’re the last one to show up. Kinda ironic, huh?” he grins, but I just let out a scoff. He shrugs and I hear him let out a muffled ‘sorry’.

“I’m sorry, Barry. I’ve just been off my game lately. There’s a lot going on. What’ve you got so far?”

“Well,” he starts to say while pointing at evidence pieces, “There were various causes to how the guards die. Some were from these boomerangs, which points at Maggie Harkness being a prime suspect. But some of these others were from glass shards. When Iris - um, Officer West showed me these, I couldn't believe it. It isn’t regular glass. It’s warped, shiny…”

I pick up a piece and observe it. Barry’s right, it is really weird. I continue to glance at the piece until I see something in it. A hint of red...wait a minute. I angle the shard until it’s pointing at my eye. Sure enough, I see a glint of my reflection in it.

“Mirrors. They’re shards from mirrors.”

“Wait, so that Mirror Master criminal had something to do with this?”

“Maybe...I don’t know yet.”

I rush through the room and pick up any other clues. The bodies are all centered on this hall, so that means Harkness and Scudder arrived here. However, there’s no sign of them breaking in, unless...got you.

“Someone should black this out,” I call out to Barry as I stare into the reflective glass that covers the viewing gallery. He walks over and looks at it.

“Okay. Anything else you see?”

Seems like Barry really does need my help. It’s kind of touching, to be honest. I keep looking around and focus on the cells. All of the Rogues’ and Jesse’s look like they were blasted apart, but something isn’t right with them. The doors, or what’s left of them, are just crumbled in front of the rooms like dust. No scorch marks, no debris flying into the rooms. They just broke into powder like they were vibrated into. Oh, no.

“Barry, we’re in trouble,” I mutter. Barry just looks at me, confused.

“Why?”

“These doors. They weren’t demolished by explosives. They were shaken at a high velocity. Quick, look at your notes. Was there something out of place with one of the guards?”

“Um…” he looks over at my mom and awkwardly grins.

"Hey, Iris. Wasn't there something weird about one of the guards they found?"

I watch mom flip through a small packet she had been scribbling on, probably notes.

“Yeah, actually. Huh. One of the guards was found dead, but no immediate cause was found. He didn’t have any external injuries.”

“They’re going to find out his heart was torn to shreds on the inside, just like Hunter Zolomon,” I growl. I feel my fist tighten up under my glove. Barry places his hand on my shoulder.

“Take a breath. So you’re saying it’s something or someone new?”

“He calls himself Zoom. I don’t know who he is, but I’m going to stop him.”

“That’s good. We need all the help we can get. Man, my dad would’ve loved having a hero around in his day.”

“Your...dad?” I ask.

“Yeah. He was a cop on the force back when I was a kid. He ended up being killed by Clarence Snart. I mean, that’s who really did it. According to the courts, it was a random kid whose only previous offense was jaywalking. That’s why I became a forensic scientist. To help cases like my dad’s get solved the right way, and to put the right culprit behind bars.”

“Barry...I’m so sorry,” I say, and then it hits me.

“What about your mom? Is she around?”

“Yeah…? She works at a nursing home in Keystone.”

Grandma’s alive here? That might be why Barry hasn’t become the Flash. I go to reply when Barry yells. I shift and dodge a blast of flame that smashes against the wall behind me. I flip around to get a clear view. Heatwave. He’s just standing there behind the glass. Costume’s new. It looks nice, a bit more streamline and probably more lethal. Behind him is a background consisting of what looks like nothing but mirrors. He raises his hand and makes a “come here” motion. I smirk and look at Barry.

“Be right back,” I grin, and rush into the mirror. It’s almost like liquid. When I get out, I’m in a large space that’s clear on all sides. I think this is the Mirror Dimension that my Jay told me MM uses. I look over and the Rogues are all standing there in new suits, accompanied by Trickster, Mirror Master, and Harkness. One of them walks up to me. Snart. He's just standing there, gloating.

“So glad you could join us, Flash. Now...let’s get this party started.”

Who knew this week was going to be HARDER than graphite week??? The only thing in abundance around here this week are clouds. So today was a strainer, a flashlight, my patient husband and a sweaty egg for an abundance of shadows.

Le parc est fermé, bien entendu... Mais on peut en "profiter" un peu depuis les fenêtres du château.

It was very hot today, to cool her down a bit my hubby Tom took her into the swimmingpool with him. She hates the feeling of water when she can't feel solid ground under her feet. So Tom kept her steady in the water by letting her stand on his legs, or by keeping her steady with his hands. This way we got her calm and cool.

Look how much she hates it...
