"Cooking is not difficult. Everyone has taste, even if they don't realize it. Even if you're not a great chef, there's nothing to stop you understanding the difference between what tastes good and what doesn't." - Gerard Depardieu

Getting a new cooker tomorrow. This one has seen better days - the grill element packed in a couple of weeks ago.

I wasn't really feeling like selfportraits Saturday, but I had this idea and since I couldn't come up with any other ideas that didn't include me in the picture, I decided to go for it.

One of the reasons that I don't feel like selfportraits at the moment is that I went to the dentist three weeks ago, and had an old filling replaced. Since then I've had a toothache.

After two weeks, I'd had enough and went to the dentist again - but was sent home again - apparently, it's normal to feel pain a few weeks - and even up to several months.

So I guess I'll just have to endure the pain :-(

Mom and Dad from a photo shoot earlier today.

Does anyone have any tips / tutorials for fixing focus in photoshop? My remote has failed me and most of what I shot using it today is slightly out of focus and frustrating me.

Still having flickr issues, apparently my photostream isn't showing all my photos for some, and some can't comment. I really have no idea what's going on. I've double checked all my settings and they all seem to be the same, has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have some advice? I'd greatly appreciate it! I thought maybe it was a browser thing, but it doesn't seem to be that. I'm running out of ideas.

Oh and it seems all my tags keep disappearing on me. I'm getting so frustrated with this.

I'm not going to have a chance to catch up with your photos, comments and messages tonight, I think I need a night away from technology. It seems to be failing me lately.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their long weekend Monday.

Picking up the pilot at dawn after an all-nighter. Entrance to Houston Ship Channel, Gulf of Mexico. Ports are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We only close on very special circumstances: dense fog or very bad weather are the most common reasons for closure.

It's so simple, popular and traditional SiChuan dish that when people talking about SiChuan food, it must be on top 3. Many restaurants outside of SiChuan can not cook it right way, for example, to use beef not pork, or to use starch batter in order to soften tofu. I, by chance, learned how to cook it with the traditional SiChuan method. But it's a little bit complex because it depends on many things that I can not find right now. So I made some changes, and it's still delicious.

Put tofu in boiled water and continue heating for 3 minutes, and a little bit salt in water as well as. Stir fry hot bean paste till oil turns red, then add garlic, chives and minced pork, continue heating for a while. Put two spoons of sugar and two spoons of water in, and continue heating till the gravy is boiled. Then, add underdone tofu in cooked hot bean paste, and stew all material till gravy gets heavy. It's done and it's time to enjoy.

Let's remember. The reason for the 365 project was to find the "me-time moment" every single day. So why not posting a picture of an ordinary playground? :-) Today I went there with a good friend of mine and his little daughter. She was playing (don't seek her in the picture) while we were sitting at a park bench and talked about this and that. Additionally it was warm and we had a nice place in the shadow. What a nice day! Day 247 full of sun and some considerable me-time.

This time of year is great (in my opinion) for sunsets...the time of day when the sun sets if perfect for photography and with the hint of clouds and a beautiful sky, the photos are awesome. The fully silhouetted tree just adds to the photo...

Three bracketed photos were taken and combined with Photomatix to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS5.

I did some more preparation for when our windows are replaced, taking down more of the blinds that we have in addition to curtains at some windows. I also booked a trip to the tip, as most of the old blinds are past it, and won't be put back up.

There was some lovely weather in between the clouds, and it was nicely warm, so I decided to do some gardening - there was plenty to do, as I haven't had time to be out there much recently. I cut one large hebe right back, and Mike helped by cutting it up into small bits to make better use of the green bin space. It was good to grab a few minutes to sit down in the egg chair, after all the hard work!

We also went through our DVDs today (thanks for your inspiration, Christopher flic.kr/p/2mkYWBF) and sorted out some to get rid of. Not all charity shops take them now, so should have done it before the car boot sale on Monday!

My parents met in college at the University of Florida, and I was raised a Gator. Along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, I graduated from UF. So there's a special place for Gainesville, Florida, in my family. Be sure to check the football schedule before planning a wedding or a party -- You won't find my parents absent from a home game, even at high noon in the sun with a heat index above 100 degrees.

Zack and I joined them for today's season opener against Miami-Ohio. We sit in the front row of the Sunshine Seats at the northwest corner of The Swamp. Cameras with detachable lenses up to 6 inches in length are permitted in the stands, so I brought my 105mm lens.

Ignoring my fear of heights, I leaned over the railing a wee bit to snap the two levels of seating below us. The spectators wearing orange shirts to match their orange seats are in the premium Touchdown Terrace area. I like the synchronized positions of the couples on the left and right.

Before you get down to the shore around here, you have to pass this area, very rocky and very steep.

Some of the cliffs are nowadays more or less completely covered in moss, making the area green all year around, very lush and, rather quiet.

September 4th. I am struggling this week. The low of back to school, clubs all starting up again and the nights drawing in. It's already dark by 8.30. I managed to catch this little fellow sunbathing outside before back into town for kids swimming (oh joy) and it was the best of a bunch of uninspired shots. Not a mono. Just a black fly on a white wall. Job done.

Woke up today and all I did was clean clean clean. I also edited some photos and went out to grab a burrito with the suite mates. I swear I'm like the only Asian here in Stony now cause everyone goes back home on the weekends. All that's left to clean up in our suite is our clogged toilet and dried up vomit in the carpet. sure it smells sour in the common room, but at least it looks clean now haha. We came back vacuumed, and now I'm doing my project 365 late cause I'm playing video games. I need to start on my school work haha.

Another smashing day off. (Gotta love it). Bits and bobs to do, A few calls to make, just plain old regular everyday stuff.

Whenever I ask my son for an idea for a POD, he rarely fails to come up with an idea. These are just 9 of a collection of many more football shirts. I suppose we could outfit a team, problem is, nobody would know who their teammates are.

A relaxing night planned. with maybe an "adult beverage" or two. (Jeez, I hate that phrase.)

Yesterday Tiny dreamed of sailing away, today he dreamed of flying away, but remained undeterred when Palo reminded him in order to fly away that 1) he needs a passport 2) he needs to decide where he would like to go and 3) he needs to buy a ticket. Tiny dutifully added these things to his to do list ...

For the first time in Vegas, I went shopping and was in the right place at the right time to catch the True Religion Fashion Show.

It was 11.40pm. So I ended up taking a photograph of John Wood of Edinburgh's Survey of 1819 of the town of Irvine, Ayrshire. The scale of the map is expressed as being in 'Scots Chains'. In 1707 the weights, measurements and currency of the old KIngdom of England became the official standard of the new Kingdom of Great Britain. Officially the old Scots weights, measures and currency disappeared at the Union. However, many maps produced in Scotland continued to use the older Scots measurements for well over a century after the Union.

Bank Street was not created until a few years after this map was surveyed.

The area immediately either side of Irvine Bridge is shown. This part of the town underwent significant change between summer 1973 and autumn 1975. The Bridge was demolished and replaced with a shopping centre. All of the buildings shown on the left (Fullarton) bank of the river were pulled down in 1973 and 1974. Most of the buildings along Bridgegate went at the same time.

Looks like a lint trap in the self-service laundry strikes again.
