Paeonia 'Green Lotus' (Krekler, Roy Klehm, 1995) is a herbaceous species-cultivar or a cultivar with only one herbaceous species involved (in this case Paeonia lactiflora). Single blooms tending towards semi-double. Looks somewhat like a Cactus Dahlia. At any rate, an unusual mostly white flower with pink tips. A light lime base with some lime green streaking on the pedals. Pistils are white tipped and stamens are bright yellow. In my opinion, an unusual looking flower that quickly turns ugly. In other words, the window of opportunity for a good photo closes quickly. Leaves look good in fall.

(inner portion of the flower) blending with the reddish outer petals. In peak bloom ‘Cherries Jubilee’ has an impressive 280 inflorescences over its medium-sized habit (36”h x 48”w), creating a truly spectacular display
2011 Hans Hansen introduction makes a well-branched 3' tall x 3' wide clump, topped in late April (NC) with flower stalks adorned with dark mahogany buds that open to cinnamon colored flowers, highlighted by yellow keels. As with all baptisia, its drought tolerance and deer-resistance are legendary. Mt. Cuba rating 4.7

Mt.Cuba Center: Baptisia sphaerocarpa ‘Screamin’ Yellow’ is one of the most floriferous cultivars in our trial.
Although it’s difficult to get an accurate count, we estimate ‘Screamin’ Yellow’ produces
as many as 350 inflorescences on a single plant. This overwhelming quantity makes
up for its slightly shorter-than-average inflorescences. In addition to the floral display,
‘Screamin’ Yellow’ has beautiful, bluish foliage that creates a rounded, medium-sized habit
(34”h x 56”w) and remains dense and sturdy all season long. Gets a 5 star rating.
Baptisia sphaerocarpa, commonly called false indigo (or yellow wild indigo) is an upright, mounded perennial that is noted for its pea-like yellow flowers, rounded seed pods and trifoliate foliage. The current range of this species appears to be Louisiana to Texas north to Missouri and Oklahoma, however it is not clear that it is indigenous to all of these areas.

Carmine-red, semi-double, midseason, 20" tall, hybrid. A glowing red, tulip shaped flower on a rounded, tidy, dwarf plant suitable for borders.
Paladin (1950) Dwarf plants with pointed bu[..] glowing cerise-red flowers. [Albiflora x lobata - the great race of „lobata hybrids“ This group contains many beautiful pink and red tones so long desired in the Chinese peonies; salmon, coral, rose and deep cherry pinks, to clear bright crimsons, with no hint of purple and never a bad color in all the hundreds that have bloomed. I think this is the most brilliant and e effective strain of herbaceous hybrids yet produced. . Their season is generally M. They set hardly any seed, but their F2's may be interesting. About a dozen reds, and almost thirty pinks have been introduced, many of them so similar to one another that I have now tried to sort them roughly into color groups. The pinks especially, fade off as the flower ages , into pale peach shades, so that a mature plant will have flowers of many differing tones, but all harmonious [..] are single except when otherwise noted. ]The Reds
