There's a story behind this photo. In Mexico City's main cathedrals, there are images of saints and altars where petitioners can leave prayers to the saints. This altar was for a saint of sick children. The petitions ar prayers for children debilitated by one illness or another. The cheap toy on the prayer sheet's left by anxious parents emphasizes the faith they put in the power of the saints.
