Part of the view from Lipton Seat. This place is not too far (approx. 7 km) from Dambatenne, high in the hilly tea estates. It's named after Sir Thomas Lipton (yep, the "Lipton" guy you are thinking of) who reputedly came to this spot in the 1890s to enjoy the view over (his?) tea plantations. Today there's a rickety wooden platform on top so that local and foreign tourists can take better panorama pictures from 1859m above sea level instead of only 1857m :-)
If coming from the tea factory there's almost certainly the possibility to get a lift with plantation workers, so you can get there before the clouds close in (happened at around 12:00 right when I was about to leave)

Note the rather `interesting` graffiti on the upper deck windows - Someone has made a right cock of that!

Former Gator Pete Alonso Shining for the New York Mets
Joseph Erickson April 12, 2019
The New York Mets are at the top of the NL East in large part because of former Gator first baseman Pete Alonso. In his first season in the majors, Alonso leads the team in batting average, home runs, RBI, on-base percentage and hits.
Thank you for taking your time to view my photos.
You can find plenty of interesting things on the walls of the Northcote Tavern. My own ancestors sailed from London to Lyttleton just a few years after this.
"The Bengal merchant with John Hemery as captain sailed from Glasgow 30th
October 1839 and arrived in Port Nicholson, Wellington on the 10th February 1940.
There were 30 married couples, 23 single men, 6 single women, 16 children under nine, 4 between nine and fifteen, and 13 under one year. One birth and one death occurred on the voyage."

My 4 year old grandson was my subject, and his twin brother was my assistant who held the reflector to light his face. It was quite a challenge working with these boys, but I liked the results. You can really see the reflector in the pupil of his eyes.

This is a little late, however, I had to wait for my new model and the evening sun to come together. Used a reflector to light up her face and eyes! She's a beauty, inside and out! Love this girl.
Those who have seen THIS IMAGE know I'm somewhat less than fond of jet shows, especially where private pilots are concerned. Well, for every rule there is an exception and there was this one guy. Bobby Younkin knew how to fly a jet and still keep it in tight with the audience AND do more that a bunch of variations of an aileron roll. There's a reason he was the only pilot to ever qualify to fly a Lear 23 single pilot......
This was from Joplin MO on July 3, 2005. That was the first time I ever tried shooting an airshow, before that time I was using low ISO slide film exclusively and that just doesn't work out for airshows. Sadly, it was also the last time I got to see Bobby perform. I shot this with a DSLR that was so new it still squeaked if I moved it too fast so I had to do a bunch of post processing to make it look decent.
Gift is 23, single and from Liberia, "chocolate in complexion and not all that photogenic", (her words, not mine), and of average height. Her father, Dr Edmund Beko was a "successful entrepreneur", and mother was a senior accountant at the Eco Bank of Liberia. There's $2.6m at The Royal Bank of Scotland, where the contact is Brian Wilston; the contact in the refugee camp is the delightfully named "Rev. Christ George" - now his career was mapped out for him at an early age!

2020 Notes: Planted 12 months ago. Last year I planted 49 new daylilies. Of the 49, Fire Fountain is one of the most vigorous. I purchased it from directly (mail order) from the breeder, Nate Bremer (Solaris Farms). It was a very large 2 fan root ball. After a year in the ground, it is 54 inches tall, scapes are thick at 1/3 inch diameter and flowers are 9 inches wide. One outstanding specimen. 2021 notes: Some of the scapes splay, has a long booming time. Last bloom in late August.
