Die City Hall, das alte Rathaus von Kapstadt
Die City Hall in der Darling Street, das alte Rathaus, gehört zu den Wahrzeichen in Kapstadts Innenstadt. Das Gebäude wurde 1905 erbaut und beeindruckt durch die reich verzierte Marmorfassade - eine architektonische Mischung aus italienischer Renaissance und britischem Kolonialstil. Das Gebäude beherbergt die Stadtbücherei und einen Konzertsaal, der für kulturelle Veranstaltungen verschiedenster Art genutzt wird. Das heutige Rathaus von Kapstadt residiert dagegen nicht mehr in der City Hall sondern seit 1979 im Cape Town Civic Center.

Un quai provisoire a dû être construit en gare de Vaulruz Nord pour permettre le transbordement dans les autobus de substitution de et vers Bulle lors d'un importante phase de chantier empêchant le trafic ferroviaire à la sortie nord de la gare du chef-lieu de la Gruyère.
La ligne Bulle - Romont n'est plus desservie par des trans régionaux et les gares intermédiaires ont été désaffectées.
Le FLIRT RABe 527 197 stationne en attendant la correspondance du bus en provenance de Bulle.
Il masque un second FLIRT en réserve sur l'autre voie.

It was recently announced that from Monday 1st June 2015 the Monday to Saturday service on route 32 from Guildford to Redhill would transfer from ARRIVA Kent & Surrey to Compass Bus and thus ending ARRIVA's fourteen year association with the route.
Pictured here during the last month of operation, ARRIVA Kent & Surrey 3932 GK51 SZN is seen on Kiln Lane near Betchworth whilst working the first eastbound route 32 which was diverted at Redhill to serve St Bedes School. Wednesday 13th May 2015

Beeston Railway Station which is part of the Midland Main Line 123 miles from London. The station was built in 1839 for the Midland Counties Railway and services began on 4 June 1839. The original station building, which was little more than a cottage, was replaced in 1847 with the substantially larger white brick building with ashlar trimmings which still exists. This is notable for its carved bargeboards, some remaining diagonal paned windows and the pseudo-heraldic shields with 'MR' and '1847'. The wooden platform canopies and adjacent wrought-iron and glass canopy were installed in 1871. The wooden platform canopies were originally located at Southwell railway station, and were relocated to Beeston when Southwell was rebuilt.
The growth of Beeston led to substantial expansion of the station facilities in the Edwardian period. An extension containing a large booking hall, ladies' waiting room and parcels office was added to the rear of the station building, doubling its floorspace. In 1937 the Midland Railway drew up plans for an additional waiting room on platform 2 but the plan was never put into action.
With the decline in passenger numbers in the 1980s, the entire station suffered from vandalism and neglect, and British Rail proposed complete demolition. A spirited campaign by the local civic society and rail historians led to the listing of the station building in 1987. A separate listing application was made in the early 1990s and the platform shelters were also listed. This was followed by restoration of what remained of the 1847 building and the platform shelters. The (architecturally undistinguished) extension was demolished, revealing the original gables on the north side of the building.

Led by our Government Relations Committee, CMF members celebrated our 31st annual Foundations on the Hill visits with Michigan Congressional Delegation members in Washington. Thanks to these vital relationships, federal legislation was introduced to extend the IRA Charitable Rollover beyond 2009; allow investments in domestic alternative tools without UBIT; and simplify the excise tax on private foundations to a revenue neutral flat tax.
In Lansing, legislation initiated by CMF was introduced and passed to create the Low-Profit Liability Corporation (L3C) – an important new tool for foundations to use in partnership with the business sector for economic revitalization. Additionally, legislation was also passed to update UPMIFA (Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act).
CMF’s continued partnership with the Michigan Nonprofit Association also resulted in a new Michigan Nonprofit Caucus in addition to coordinating key events like Nonprofit Day to raise the visibility of the nonprofit sector and philanthropy in Lansing.
