Oh hey, do you ever have those moments when you go and take a nap and where up from said nap feeling a little worse than when you had laid down? This is how this photo happened. Personally I could wake up this every day.

MAVs M62 224 catches the evening sun in Tapolca station after arriving with a service from Zahony on 13/7/09.
Still hanging on but only used for spares is Big Lemon Mercedes P224 LKK. It's seen beside Scania Vanhool coach J234 XKY.

Voici le 3eme objet de notre team Northern France Remote : SH2-224.
Il s'agit d'un rémanent de supernova dans la constellation du Cocher, un objet similaire aux dentelles du Cygne mais bien bien plus diffus.
La réalisation de cet objet aura été difficile a plus d'un titre : le signal est extrêmement diffus a la fois en H et en O et il aura fallu 80h cumulées pour atteindre ce niveau de signal.
De plus, la météo en janvier aura été capricieuse, même en Espagne, ralentissant la progression de l'image !
Il n'en reste pas moins que c'est un objet que nous sommes fiers de vous montrer et dont la réalisation sous nos contrées nordiques, avec la météo actuelle n'aurait même pas été envisagée !
A très vite pour une prochaine image printanière !

Hi all !
Here is the 3rd object from our Northern France Remote team: SH2-224.
This is a supernova remnant in the constellation Auriga, an object similar to Cygnus lace but much more diffuse.
The realization of this object will have been difficult in more than one way: the signal is extremely diffuse in both H and O and it will have taken a cumulative 80 hours to reach this signal level. In addition, the weather in January will have been capricious, even in Spain, slowing down the progress of the image!
The fact remains that it is an object that we are proud to show you and whose creation in our northern regions, with the current weather would not even have been considered!

The imaging season up here 65N starts to be over soon, in a week we'll be out of astronomical darkness for about six months. This photo of dim supernova remnant in constellation Auriga is one of the last images for the Spring season 2016.
La Zone d'Exclusion Stellaire
Pour les cartographes de la Fédération Galactique Avancée, Sh2-224 est classifiée "Zone d'Exclusion Stellaire ZZ-09". Les rapports officiels parlent de "concentrations anomales de poussières submicroniques à haute densité et de gaz moléculaires froids". Mais les rapports non officiels, ceux échangés à voix basse dans les spatioports mal famés, racontent une autre histoire.
C'est une région où les lois de la physique semblent... flexibles. Les capteurs deviennent fous, les systèmes de navigation dérivent inexplicablement, et les communications sont non seulement brouillées, mais parfois renvoyées avec des échos impossibles, des fragments de conversations qui n'ont jamais eu lieu.
Certaines théories audacieuses suggèrent que Sh2-224 n'est pas naturelle. Serait-ce le résidu d'une expérience de terraformation ratée à une échelle inimaginable ? Ou pire, une arme antique, un "champ d'annulation" déployé il y a des éons par une civilisation disparue pour masquer quelque chose... ou pour contenir quelque chose ?
Des sondes envoyées dans ses profondeurs n'ont jamais transmis de données cohérentes avant de se taire. Certains murmurent qu'elles ont traversé une sorte de "membrane dimensionnelle", ou qu'elles ont été désintégrées par des nanites auto-réplicantes tapies dans la poussière. D'autres imaginent une intelligence artificielle vaste et froide, une conscience née de l'obscurité elle-même, qui considère toute intrusion comme une agression.
Approcher Sh2-224, c'est comme approcher une singularité endormie. On ressent une tension, une attente. Ce n'est pas juste de la poussière ; c'est un secret massif, une anomalie volontaire dans le tissu de la réalité. Qu'y a-t-il vraiment caché derrière ce rideau de velours noir ? Une flotte endormie ? Les ruines d'une Mégastructure impossible ? Ou simplement, le silence absolu, si parfait qu'il en devient terrifiant ?
Sh2-224 n'est pas une absence de lumière. C'est une présence d'autre chose. Une question sombre posée à l'univers lumineux, dont personne n'a encore osé vraiment chercher la réponse.

Thought I'll comeback to this location, though already mentioned, this is photographed at the site once was a storage yard for London United's decommissioned VAs and DPs. This one did interest me to photograph as it displayed plain "Alperton".
The route was altered almost 10 years ago when Willesden Junction was its previous eastern terminus of then it was rerouted to former route 206 terminus at St. Raphael's Estate in Neasden. This however did became one of those indirect routes from Neasden to Wembley, going via areas such as Harlesden and Stonebridge Park.
The route was again altered in December 2019, this time being cut from Alperton Sainsbury's and Wembley Stadium, though without any replacement.
