2 mei 2016.
Edit: Deze trein zal per 1 oktober 2017 worden opgeheven.

Such are the freight traffic levels we often see trains passing, but thankfully don't get curt off completely. 10 freight movements an hour at Gemunden is not uncommon.

The above image is a scan from an original Kodachrome™ slide. The default size is 2000 x 1250 pixels, so clicking on the photo will enlarge it for better viewing.
The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and ones acquired through trades or purchases.
I created this Photostream in 2017 for the purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, as otherwise they would just remain in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.
Comments are welcome.

The Boeing Collection
From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. Hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age.
Seen taxiing past the perimeter fence at Paris CDG is one of Air France's small fleet of aircraft that were originally leased from Boeing, carrying the American registration from 1981 to 1986, when it was bought outright and re-registered as F-GCBD. Not sure if the local security noticed that I'd captured them in my photograph!
Note the Side Cargo Door (SCD) which the aircraft had, despite being ostensibly a passenger aircraft. Some of the pure freighters, such as those operated by Seaboard World Northwest Orient back in the day had a nose-up loading facility, which was much faster than the traditional Side Cargo Door which they also had. Note also the very faded livery! In need of a repaint.
N1289E c/n 22272 - Boeing 747-228 SCD - delivered new to Air France in Jul 1980 on lease from Boeing. Flew with this registration for ten years, from 1980 to 1990, before being bought and re-registered as F-GCBB. Apart from a three year lease to Sabena in the mid 1990s, the aircraft flew for another 15 years before being sold to Pullmantur Air (Spain) as EC-JFR. It was finally withdrawn in 2007 and stored at Chateauroux - fate unknown, presume scrapped. Update! Please see comment from Polski_Photos below :)
Air France 747s - an early customer of the original model series 100 of the 'Jumbo Jet', Air France was eventually to operate some 75 different airframes, some bought and others leased, series 100, 200, 300 and 400. A number of the early model 100s and some 200s were lease-purchased from Boeing rather than bought outright. Delivered in the early 1970s, they retained their Boeing registrations until the early 1980s, when they were finally purchased and given their allocated French registrations.
In the 1980s, deliveries of the model 200s continued and, as before, some of these were lease-purchased from Boeing rather than bought outright. Delivered in the early 1980s, they retained their Boeing registrations until the early 1990s, when they were finally purchased and given their allocated French registrations. N1289E was one of these, becoming F-GCBB in 1990.
The series-200s were re-registered as follows:
N18815 in 1974, became F-BPVO in 1982
N1252E in 1978, became F-BPVU in 1985
N1289E in 1980, became F-GCBB in 1990
N1305E in 1981, became F-GCBD in 1986
N4508E in 1981, became F-GCBE in 1992
N4506H in 1982, became F-GCBF in 1990
N4544F in 1982, became F-GCBG in 1990

Back from Banning (BNG) after leaving earlier in the afternoon. Now a firefighting tanker, this Chinook previously used serials 74-22272 and 90-00182 with the U.S. Army.

This is a scan of an original kodachrome slide. It was scanned with an Epson Pro V750, and finished up with very minor post processing work in Photoshop.
The original comes from my own slide collection, which contains both my own photos and those acquired over the past forty or so years collecting.
The uploading of the material in this Flickr collection is just for the purpose of sharing the pictures with people who may find them of interest. Comments are welcomed.
