Some Fall Color. It doesn't last long, so I tried to preserve it digitally.

10/2022 - Coyote Basin, UT

As the E60s continue east dumping ballast along the way, this was the only spot I could set up where the sun actually lit up the front end of the lead unit reasonably well.

Dumping ballast. While they finish up this spot, I'm going to run ahead of the train to the next overpass.

10/2022 - Bonanza, UT

Jumping to the west end of the railroad, 45 minutes away by road, we catch up to a train crew working with a MW crew dumping ballast. We'll follow these guys as they dump stone at several spots on the Utah half of the railroad. That truck isn't stuck.

The hills in the background remind me a bit of the area around the Navajo Mine RR or the painted desert. The crew is dropping ballast just west of an overpass.

10/2022 - Deserado, CO

The Deseret Power RY has a total of seven E60 electrics on their roster but these three are surplus parts units. Wearing their former National de Mexico colors and lettering, we have EA035, EA028, and EA017.

10/2022 - Another spot on the DPR that looks much like the Painted Desert. While I did get some neat shots on this visit due to them operating a slow ballast train, they're all left to right due to the orientation of the railroad and lack of any curves facing south or better. What can ya do.

10/2022 - Coyote Basin, UT

With the chase pretty much over, a parting shot. I shot a video after this right on the UT/CO border then got a few shots at the loadout end and called it a day.
