The copper union on the engine block was pointing the wrong way and I could tell if too much force was applied to remove it would break. Thankfully I removed it and tapped the thread in the engine block out with an NPT tap. The union went in no bother and the newly cut thread allowed me to rotate it further into the block and get it pointing in the right direction.
