Nu dat het zonnetje weer volop schijnt, begint het bij mij weer te kriebelen om erop uit te trekken... maar dan zal ik eerst wel de microben de baas moeten worden.

Ondertussen keer ik met jullie dan maar met plezier nog eens een aantal jaren terug in de tijd, meer bepaald naar maart 2009 toen wij een succesvolle fotodag afsloten langsheen lijn 50a in Wambeek.

NMBS oude stijl was daar a volonté tijdens de piek, bijvoorbeeld met deze bordeauxrode M5-rijtuigen. Ik dacht dat het hier een piekuurtreun richting Kortrijk betrof. Misschien kan er iemand uitsluitsel geven?

A celldömölki vonalon lévő vágányzár miatt egy hónapon keresztül dupla géppel jártak a személyvonatok a 11-es vonalon, mert a Győr környékén dolgozó dízelmozdonyokat csak Komáromban vagy Veszprémben lehetett kiszerelni gázolajjal. A képen egy szombat délutáni 39523 ereszkedik Bakonyszentlászló felé.

IC 2118 is a reflection nebula in the Orion constellation, around 900 light years from earth.

It’s essentially a large cloud of dust that’s being illuminated by starlight. As such, the colours/tones that we perceive will be largely dependent on the nearby stars. As you can see, there’s a fairly dominant blue’ish tone present. That’s because this nebula is right next to (astronomically speaking) the blue supergiant star Rigel; one of the brightest stars in our night sky and one you’ve no doubt seen before (it makes up the “left leg” of the hunter figure in the Orion constellation).
