A tender (and hairy) young tendril of Wisteria wends its way around a couple of older vines of the same plant on its journey upward, always upward and outward, towards to light.
The classic view from the footbridge just west of Southampton Central. As a child I first saw trains from this bridge nearly 60 years ago and the houses haven't really changed. But in those days there were hardly any cars in the road of course. Always nice to get 59003 on her regular turn.
Ogmore Castle was established by William de Londres as early as 1116 on the south bank of the Ewenny. It remained in the possession of Londres family until 1298 when Maud de Chaworth married Henry Lancaster. It stayed under the Duchy of Lancaster until it was taken over by the crown in 1399. The castle was abandoned between the 1530s and 1631; with the exception of the Court House (the building on the left), which was still in use until 1803. The surviving remains include a sub-oval enclosure that includes a stone keep. The keep is one of the earliest examples of its type in Wales and was built in the early twelfth century possibly by William de Londres' son Maurice.

A pleasing turn-up during the Townlynx school run-out was Olympian S260 KLG, still going strong after over eleven years here - the same time as it spent in its native Dublin.

A good turn of speed from Townlynx's former Dublin Olympian as it ignores the turn to Flint Mountain and swoops downhill towards Northop and ultimately Chester where it will take up the first of its afternoon school runs.
The tiny stump on the horizon on the righthand edge of the shot is Liverpool Cathedral, 14 miles away as the crow flies.

** ironically, a while back I acquired Spring Blossom complete and NRFB, and that one was also in a Mix'n match box - the mix was the exact reverse of this one ...
so, now I can give that doll the proper lid and keep this incomplete doll loose ...
and maybe the Spring Tea Party doll will eventually find her way to me, since I already have a box and a stand waiting just for her.
