A couple of shots from a wander round to the back yard one lunchtime - things appeared from nowhere, or disappeared and revealed other things behind them ! So it was worth the occasional effort.
The Salford PD2 had been a driver trainer for several years, but had clearly done its last turn a while before I caught up with it here. The Mancunian was a new recruit to the engineering training unit, and apparently stayed here until early 1987 - which is more than I did !

Grumman F8F Bearcat of The Fighter Collection, based at Duxford, put through its paces at the Fly Navy air show at Old Warden. A delight to see, even if in miserable weather conditions!

After the E&LS went by I noticed the track condition under the bridge. Maybe we should take up a collection for a few ties and some ballast? North Escanaba, MI 4-24-14
The Grumman F8F Bearcat was one of the fastest piston-engine fighters ever built, entering service just as World War II was ending. Designed for power and agility, it became a favourite at air races and remains an iconic example of late-war U.S. Navy engineering.
We shot the U-745 all-rail on the Escanaba River bridge and the E&LS showed back up with a freshly painted flat. OK, we didn't get the CN's power, nor was the E&LS's power we got even facing the right way, but we got it. North Escanaba, MI 4-24-14

I was originally planning on writing this blog post next weekend, but since the storms today kept me indoors (besides, you know, everything else that’s kept me indoors), I went ahead and knocked it out today. If you’re a fan of vintage retail surviving into the 21st century, then I think you’ll like this pharmacy in Columbus, MS! Please check out the post over at the Mid-South Retail Blog here. And for the heck of it, here’s another song list…
1. Operator – Jim Croce
2. All the Way to Reno – REM
3. Rocky Mountain Way – Joe Walsh
4. Low – Cracker
5. Numb – Linkin Park
6. Dream of My Own – To Have Heroes
7. Daylight – Coldplay
8. 1985 – Bowling for Soup 🔥 (one of my favorites!)
9. Dead Wrong – Fray
10. Louder Than Ever – Cold War Kids
11. Lemon Parade – Tonic

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

Just emerged from British Eagle Engineering at Liverpool after painting and being made ready for delivery to Invicta Airways.
G-AOCC was ordered by Airwork Ltd., but it was cancelled before delivery and delivered to Cubana in Jun-56 as CU-T605. In Apr-61, Eagle Airways (Bermuda) Ltd bought it. It was registered VR-BBM and operated services from Bermuda to the US mainland.
It was transferred to Cunard Eagle Airways as G-AOCC in Sep-62. Cunard Eagle was renamed British Eagle International in Sep-63 when Cunard threw in their lot with BOAC to form BOAC Cunard (a lot of good it did them, within 2 years the Cunard name had vanished and it was back to BOAC!).
It was sold to Invicta Airways in Feb-68 and Invicta was merged into British Midland Airways in Jan-69, although Invicta Cargo continued as a separate company with the C-54's. The aircraft was retired at East Midlands Airport in Apr-69 and broken up there in Aug-69 after a lifespan of just 13 years.
