Nottingham City centre.

It's very rare that I photograph people, but I do like occasionally catching our Camera Club members while we are out and about on photowalks as we were last night.

We travelled over to Therfield Heath to see the butterflies there. We nearly postponed the evening as the forecast was for a chance of thunder storms...we thought, what the hell!

Did we ever see a thunderstorm - it poured and we had a large amount of thunder and ligtning but only for about half an hour, we were then rewarded with some lovely light, a rainbow and butterflies, albeit in rather damp conditions. We had a great time!

I woke up to Duffy's Macro Monday's shot winking at me, and was inspired to join in. Sitting on the kitchen sink is an old walnut shell I found while gardening probably more than a month ago; I've meant to shoot it but have never gotten around to it. It's extra cool (not pictured here) because if you flip it around it has a little smirk, a sort of Thalia and Melpomene. HMM!

Illinois Terminal Train #201 transfers to the ICG at Kenney, Illinois, May 2, 1981. The engines, 2004-1501-2003, have run around the train and will head to Springfield on the ICG. Because of the way the wye at Kenney was laid out, the engines had to run around the train to get onto the ICG. That's why the IT train had cabooses on both ends of the train.

I'm going to go back home in little rounder. Not that I'm complaining....

Day 201 - chained

Another boring and unimaginative Bokeh shot today again. I took a nearly identical picture yesterday when I was out, but the light was bad and there was way to much noise in the image. So I just went back today and got the shot. Being quite busy again at the moment, so I might keep it at fast bokeh shots for the week.

The Give-Away is closed now and I will draw and post the winners tomorrow.

As I was leaving the studio, I spotted her sweater across tyhe street. "I love that sweater!" I shouted. "Thanks!" she repled. "Can I get a photo of you in it?", I wasn't missing this opportunity. She beckoned me over.

We had the bright sun on the white wall in a parking lot. I had my smart phone. She had sass and style. I went to pro on my phone camera and took five or six shots. "What's your name?" I asked

"Landry' she replied. "I'm no model."

"Ha!" I told her, "You are now!"

And just like that I've found myself shooting another 100 strangers. This time I think I will make the shooting more organic. More happenstance. And I just might make them all in front of the White Wall. Oh, and I'll remember to exchange contact information. I'd really like Landry to have this shot. She rocked it!

Thank you Landry, for being the 201st stranger in my 100 Strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the flickr group page.

According to the Mayan oral tradition, the gods created the hummingbird by blowing an arrow carved in stone, in order to carry their wishes and thoughts among human beings. There is a belief, in that sense, that hummingbirds visit us to give us messages from God or from our deceased loved ones.

Today I had the day off of work and decided to spend it taking photos. Amanda met Jordan and I down by the University and we got a quick shoot in before it started to rain.

This was taken in a little alley between some pubs in "olde sandwhich towne" on the west side. I've walked past it many times and have always wanted to shoot something there and finally got to today.

Big thanks to Amanda for coming out and looking awesome, also to Jordan for helping with the lighting and the knee slappers.

Northbound Milwaukee Road train #201 is slowly coming out of Conrad, Indiana and approaching Lake Village on December 18th, 1986 with a nice trio of freshly painted bandits-6364-6355-6304.

Train had a 10 mph speed restriction from basically Enos to Schneider, so it was a crawl between those 2 points. The rickety, poorly maintained NYC Egyptian line was barely letting these trains by. View looks S/E from 800N. Route 41 would be at far right out of photo.

Chilling out today with the doggies. Dad is out and sister is at work so thought I'd have a "down" day.
