Two weeks removed from a most controversial general election here in the United States and Levee’s concept Subway Therapy continues to grow and expand spreading to adjacent walls in the 14th Street and Sixth Avenue Union Square Subway station. The post-it therapy is spreading to other stations in the city, like Atlantic Station in Brooklyn. The brainchild of 28 year old artist Matthew ‘Levee’ Chavez a concept magnificent in its simplicity, a makeshift setup that encourages commuters to share messages via post-its of unity, hope, love, healing and yes the occasional complaint about the outcome of the election and the fears related to President Elect Trumps many controversial comments during the election.
Regardless of how one voted, this simple concept is evidence of what makes the United States special and great. Vice-President Elect Pence got an earful up town after watching the play Hamilton on Broadway and his response whether one supported his ticket or not struck a good cord, he said to his children who were with him “that’s what freedom sounds like.” I feel very blessed and grateful to live in this country on this Thanksgiving Day 2016 where the election process works and is respected, freedom to speak one’s mind is afforded to everyone, and while there have been organized protests there is still order. This image of the wall shows the large number of post-its, like I said post-it therapy has spread to adjacent walls, walls behind and continues.

Around 5,000 activists aligned with various social justice, peace and environmental groups marched from City Hall to the Wells Fargo Center to protest the long ongoing hijacking of the Democratic Party by corporatist/militarist elements loyal to the Clinton family. Thousands of emails released by Wikileaks just days before exposed collusion between the corporate media and the DNC to sabotage the insurgent and nearly successful Sander's "political revolution". On Sunday, July 24 In the wake of this scandal DNC chairwomen Debbie Wasserman-Shultz announced her resignation. After being booed off stage at a meeting of her Florida delegation on Monday morning she also cancelled all of her other speaking events at the convention.
Interactions between the marchers and the Philadelphia Police were generally respectful and peaceful*. According to later reports on the ground around 50 demonstrators were arrested when they staged a peaceful civil disobedience sit-in in front of the Wells Fargo Center.
*TeleSur reporter Abby Martin was roughed-up and cuffed by cops for accidentally entering a 'no go' zone where credentials she did not have were required. Martin claims she complied with all police orders but was arrested anyway.

.... The answer stems from the agrarian makeup of 19th-century America. In the 1800s, most citizens worked as farmers and lived far from their polling place. Since people often traveled at least a day to vote, lawmakers needed to allow a two-day window for Election Day. Weekends were impractical, since most people spent Sundays in church, and Wednesday was market day for farmers. With this in mind, Tuesday was selected as the first and most convenient day of the week to hold elections. Farm culture also explains why Election Day always falls in November. Spring and early summer elections were thought to interfere with the planting season, and late summer and early fall elections overlapped with the harvest. That left the late fall month of November—after the harvest was complete, but before the arrival of harsh winter weather—as the best choice ....
