... revisited from the journey of discovery in April, this "little house on the prairie" was once again the subject of my lens. I wanted to capture so much in this frame from the *chattering clouds to the golden stubble on the bottom left that I decided not to crop this shot.

I've been on flickr one year today and it has been amazing to now grow to love something like this, I have made some awesome friends on here and got in to photography like i never thought i would...
I only joined because my good friend Jason (s0ulsurfing) said i should, all i used to take were shots of waves really just to remind me of good swells, i never dreamed i would enjoy photography so much!!! so thanks mate!!

one year ago today, i joined flickr and posted the first photo. i was excited, but never imagined that i would meet so many great photographers and wonderful friends here (and that i would even have a chance to meet some of them in person!). since i started flickr, thanks to all of you, my world has widened and my everyday life has become happier.

This image, taken on Times Square the night of November 4th 2008, around two hours after the world knew Barack Obama would become President of the United States, grew up to be the most iconic image of my photo stream (Currently at +23.000 views, +870 views). In a way, it helped make me who I am as a photographer today...
I ended up meeting Stephanie and Andrew, the couple in the image... and it seemed a dream come true.
365 nights after this kiss, sadly, I've come to known they are not longer together. Obama has been president for a year. Some of his promises have come to be true and it's been great to the country and the world. But many other promises are yet to be fulfilled, even addressed for the first time...
Last night, Maine became another state after California last year, where slightly more than a half of voters decided to take back a basic civil right that was already in motion in that state: the ability for same-sex couples to marry their loved one.
There is so much to do still...
And hope is not written in capitals anymore, like it was one year ago...
I DO hope, because in my heart I'm an eternal optimist, that best things will prevail in the end. That LOVE and HUMANITY will conquer the hate and bigotry and ignorance in so many hearts.
And why not? Maybe there's still a chance for love to happen again...
PS: In my year and few months on Flickr, I had never before re-post an image that was already on my stream. But I think if a single one deserved it, it had to be this one. And I wanted to use the impact and strength of the moment depicted to send a message of hope of my own. Thanks to all of you who helped made this an iconic image.

One year ago today, I put my first photograph on Flickr. It was an orchid photograph so I have decided to upload another orchid photograph for commemorate it.

For the second leg of our advanced 1st anniversary trip, Dustin and I went to Brussels. I had seen a shot of this building in another person's stream on Flickr and decided to throw Brussels into our trip plan because I wanted to take a photo of it.
I deviated from my low glucose index diet to revel in Belgian waffles in a cafe in this building. It was well worth it.

Chambers Bay Golf Course here in University Place has recently celebrated it's 1st year Anniversary. I was honored to have this version of PAX added to the front page of their website as part of that celebration!
I have no idea how long they will show it, but I'm truly honored!
It's now been a year since he passed away just weeks after he turned 90. Here, this was one of the last ever photographs of him.
I made check version of wrap coat for The Seasons Story.
I imagined the check in the fall fashion.

Our Daily Challenge: How Sweet it Is!
One year ago today I married my love I feel so blessed to have found a “chapter two” after the death of my first husband. Life is wonderful and oh so sweet!

In celebration of Rosie and Charlie’s first homecoming anniversary! Charlie was born in early March, and Rosie in late May of 2018, so it celebrates their first year too :-)
Not that they cared lol, but I wish I had posted more of the pics I took of the girls as they were kittens, so I gathered some favorites for my first-ever slideshow. (LOL, I’m am making up for being remiss in regularly posting photos of them all in one single post!) Many of these are not the greatest quality-- ranging from over-zoomed phone snaps to not-quite-mastered photos of dark-furred and quick-moving kittens indoors. I’m pleased with the result of the slideshow – the images look so much better at a quicker look, lol ;-) The image order got a little scrambled in the making, but it still essentially stayed chronological. The earliest photos are from their first days home in July, through October ’18, and with the last four from January, February and April ‘19.

A year ago these clouds preceeded an F3 tornado that hit Goderich, Ontario, Canada. Only 5% of tornadoes in Canada manage to reach F3 status.
Our Daily Challenge: Save The ..... Bees
In honor of Earth Day, the challenge was “Save The”. Bees prefer about 80% of all pollination, and their colonies are disappearing. Hopefully our society will take the necessary steps to save the bees.

Jack-Jack’s First Anniversary
Today marks the first anniversary that Jack-Jack became a part of our family. He has come a long way since he first arrived and though he still has a handful of things to learn I am very proud of our little boy. To another year and beyond of adventure, love, loyalty, unconditional love, family and companionship Jack-Jack!
The shark goggles are perfect for our little shark :P
