I have no absolutely no idea why this train crept past me so slowly. I did wonder if the Royal Train was about again, but sadly it was not to be!

I came down here after another busy week at work, to relax and unwind a bit. I could only stay for just over an hour, so the primary objective was to photograph the morning sand train out of Middleton Towers. However, I secretly hoped to catch this newly transferred EMU in action!
I knew the 'Green Train' was about, because a greyhound friend of mine had had her photo taken boarding it, just a day or two previously & sent the photo to Lorraine.
By pure luck, it appeared on the first Northbound service to King's Lynn & therefore, I knew I had just enough time to grab another shot of it on the way back. It then appeared again in the afternoon & another photographic opportunity presented itself!

Following an outbreak of lineside fires in the area, steam haulage has been reduced at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, and in addition to a shortage of steam locos, this is the result. 37264 leads 1T10 14:00 Whitby to Pickering into Levisham as 37403 waits to depart with 1T18 15:00 Pickering to Whitby.

Back In Its Original LMS Livery, 5428 'Eric Treacy' Slows For The Level Crossing As It Heads Over The River Esk At Ruswarp With 1T10, The 09.19 North Yorkshire Moors Railway Grosmont to Whitby Service.
Unfortunately, The Weather Had Been So Poor For Most Of The Week, Not A Single Passenger Was Prepared To Brave The Elements & Take The Risk Of What Whitby Had To Offer This Early In the Day. Shame Really, As This Was The Driest & Sunniest Morning By Far, Even If The Sun Had Gone In As Soon As The Train Rounded the Corner.
