Dated from about 1956, the Diax 1b is actually a viewfinder camera, despite the impressive collection of windows. There is one viewfinder for each of the three lenses available, each window lightly tinted a different colour to help avoid confusion. The camera is shown here with the 90mm Schneider Kreuznach f/3.5 lens. I suspect these Voss cameras are not at all well known in the USA, but they were held in high regard in Europe.

New (to me) MIR-1B lens. I've already had it in bits and tried reversing the front element. The grease has gone a bit oily and spread everywhere, so it needed a bit of a clean too.

Taken with 24-70mm 'S' kit zoom and a 9mm macro spacer ring.

In PP, crop, sharpen, denoise and balance lighting a bit.

This Canadian built Sea Hurricane first flew in January 1941. Originally built as a Hurricane Mk.I, it was shipped to the UK and converted to Sea Hurricane IB standard, involving the fitting of catapult spools and an arrester hook.

Restored to flight in 1995, it is owned by the Shuttleworth Trust based at Old Warden, Bedfordshire. Seen here at Shuttleworth Military Air Show 2024.

Here is my photo for todays Macro Monday. It's an old Kodak Retina 1b camera from 1954-1957
