numérisation d'une diapositive que j'ai prise en 1982 du Lac Blanc en plein mois d'août. A l'époque il y avait encore les névés. En 2023 le chalet a disparu depuis longtemps.
Led by the Missouri Pacific heritage locomotive, a westbound 'grainifest' (loaded Keyes grain with Roseville manifest tacked on the rear) sails down grade through the heart of Palisade Canyon on the former eSPee mainline. Near the center of the photo is the 'fly-over' where the Western Pacific crossed over the Overland Route as the two railroads thread the Humboldt River through the Canyon.

Het was een kwestie van tijd dat de 1307 en 1310 in de blauwe kleurstelling zouden rijden. Toen ze ook nog samen in de omloop Amsterdam - Emmerich terecht kwamen was het tijd om er iets meer aandacht aan te besteden. Na aankomst met mijn forensentrein 623 uit Den Haag snel via de traverse naar het einde van spoor 9 voor de eerste klik van de dag. Uiteindelijk startte de renovatie met de 1307 in januari 1984.
Op 30 augustus 1982 staat de 1310 voor buurlandtrein 2305 Amsterdam - Keulen.

With the light all but gone we caught one last view as she blew through the Grant's Tower area. I would have preferred a little more light but it ended up a nice scene all the same.
I'm not a big fan of derailment pictures but I been asked to post a few of this spectacular crash. On July 12, 1982 trains 909 and 910 met head on about one mile east of Gilchrist in a curve. Thankfully the head end crews were able to jump before impact. Both trains were traveling between 25-30 mph at impact.6600 was leading 910 and 4408 was leading 909. Both were write offs. It was a Monday and that did probably limit the damage as both trains weren't very long or heavy.
The MoPac Heritage engine has just exited out of the Tunnel at Bridgeport as it trails on this empty coal train heading to the W. Elk Mine on the North Fork Branch.
Base model here by the look of it, with the one light built into the rear bumper... Apparently this has been sat here since 2001, 19 years was good innings though, probably won't be too long before it disappears altogether. Looked decent bodywise, but there is no way this will ever return to the road, not when there is countless better examples still out there.
