The owners let our friend have this shot taken in the old shed. They gave us just a few minutes just in case the old building collapsed :-)
The original cars had timber spoked wheels, but didn't last too long on the old Australian roads.
A 1927 Dodge Graham. It is one of the most popular photography subjects in Bodie. Bodie is a former gold mining town east of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and north of Mono Lake in California. It once had a population of about 10,000. Only about 5 percent of the town remains. It became a California State Historic Park in 1962 and is maintained in a state of "arrested decay." YouTube has several videos on Bodie.

Richard Henry Lea and Graham Inglesby Francis started their business in Coventry in 1895. The policy of the partnership was to build bicycles of the highest quality; the most expensive on the British market. Motor cars were built from 1903 of an advanced specification. This 1927 Lea-Francis YT7015 is seen at Toddington.
Bodie, California is a town frozen in time, and preserved by California State Parks in a state of “arrested decay.” Bodie became a State Historic Park in 1962, and maintains the buildings just as they were found when the State took over the town – but they do not restore the buildings, instead choosing to simply preserve the buildings in their aged and weathered 1880s appearance.
I opened a closet door to look for an old camera and the first thing I found was a 1927 copy of the OHIO STATE JOURNAL--at that time the only Columbus , Ohio morning paper.The headline is about a speech made at a meeting of the Columbus Ad Club. It was 19 years later that I saw my first commercial TV in Dobbs Ferry, NY--cartoons for only a few hours a day.
