When you head west out of Death Valley on state Highway 190 you'll cross the Panamint Mountains and snake your way down into the alkaline flats of Owen's Valley.
Owen's Valley was ground zero for the California water wars, which were the inspiration behind the 1974 movie "Chinatown" starring Jack Nicholson.
I like to travel where the stars have been.

Paid Canberra another visit exactly one year after we last stayed there...did a one day road trip...very tiring but was enjoyed with my extended family. This is at the National Arboretum...a beautiful landscape area...the building in the background is a fantastic little place you can hire for weddings and it has a fantastic view.

Normally on a Formula 1 race day I would theme my scrabble Sunday shot related to the race but as I'm away this weekend I thought something like this would be more appropriate. Came up with the idea a couple of days ago not really thinking how difficult it would be to pull off! I attempted this on and off all day today and about 200 shots later I got something like what I had in mind. You know what they say, never work with children or animals! Hope you enjoy!

Debutto nella linea del Brennero per l'Impresa Rail Cargo Italia (ex Linea Smart Business Ways) con un convoglio di rottami ferrosi proveniente da Hall in Tirol (Austria) e diretto a Verona Porta Vescovo. Il convoglio inizialmente in carico a Trenitalia Cargo venne poi preso in carico da RCI che in attesa di prendere certificazione nel territorio Italiano lo trazionava fino a Brennero per poi continuare verso la pianura in carico a NordCargo. A certificazione avvenuta il viaggio può essere fatto senza cambi di locomotive da parte della stessa Impresa. In foto l'EUC 44203 mentre transita nella stazione di Peri (VR) affidato alla Taurus ÖBB 1216 032 / E.190.032.

Ty doby jsou již dávno pryč, kdy se na cestě ložené strusky z hutích v Linci do Radotína vystřídalo na České straně několik typů hnacích vozidel. Málo kdy se řada 340 podívala na trať číslo 190. Pouze v mimořádnostech nedošlo v Horním Dvořišti k přepřahu na řadu 230, či 240. To se stalo i šestého dubna roku 2018, kdy lokomotiva 340.049 odvezla vlak v úseku Summerau - Protivín, odkud vlak pokračoval v dieselové trakci. Dnes tento vlak jezdí bez přepřahu přes Plzeň v čele s "Vectronem". Tento stroj je již v současnosti odstaven z provozu a údajně má sloužit jako zdroj náhradních dílů pro zbylé dvě "třistačtyřicítky". Poslední výkon je ze dne 31. 07. 2020, kdy se jela zkušební jízda jako Lv 55408 / 55409 České Budějovice - Výhybna Nemanice II., I. - a zpět.
