“Absolutely stunning. I think that this is not only one of Australia’s best, it is one of the best courses in the world, old or new.” – Geoff Ogilvy
The Dunes, Barnbougle’s original course, is a Links Golf Course unlike any other in Australia. Meandering along Tasmania’s dramatic North East coast, it’s where breathtaking scenery and thrilling golf truly come together.
Golf at The Dunes is a game of strategy, where each shot requires tactical thought and a little creativity can be rewarding.
Take a short video tour of The Dunes course:

Lock down restrictions the previous day had forced the closure of all golf courses. I'm not sure why this was necessary if people stayed the correct distance from each other. Viruses do NOT jump through the air, and the open air is surely a better environment to be in than couped up like battery hens. But nothing very logicial or common sensical seems to have prevailed in this society.
The poor golfer was out alone hitting a number of balls to the 18th green. He also seemed very wary that he might be seen. I am glad to report that golf courses are now open for business again in Tasmania. Sanity at last. More fresh air = better health! And Tasmania has some of the cleanest air in the world.
Which reminds me: Watch the London Real interview (5pm London Time April 27 - and replayed) with highly qualified American physician Dr Rashid Buttar as he explains why the current lock down measures are medically wrong and a threat to all our freedoms.

The last hole of The Wynn Golf Club ends with this fabulous green surrounded by water on the left and behind with a gorgeous waterfall. I'm not a golfer but this looks like a near perfect place to play a round or two...

In dramatic fashion, Tiger Woods reacts after a birdie putt on the 18th green to put him in contention to win the PGA Championship. This is paradise for me. (Photo by me).
2017 Weekly Alphabet Challenge, week 5, E for Evergreen
The green, green grass of the 18th hole and green at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews this past Sunday, definitely always kept so that it's evergreen ;-)

My wife and I were out for our cycle around Lakewood Ranch and it got a little dark and I thought it was going to rain. It didn't we are now relaxing by the pool!

Jason Day is the world's number one-ranked professional golfer. On the 18th green, after he won The PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, his little four-year old son sprinted on to the green and gave him the big hug you see here. Yep, moments like that make me happy. (Photo by D. Wong)

The last time Tiger Woods won a PGA tournament was more than 6 years ago. On Sunday, Sept 23, 2018, he won the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, in grandioso style. This particular tournament only brings out the 30 best golfers on the PGA tour, so it was particularly sweet that Tiger won after such a long drought. Congrats! (Photo by me)

St Andrews Clubhouse & Hamilton Grand, Fife, Scotland. As a golfer, this is one of my favourite views of the Old Course, photographed from “Grannie Clark’s Wynd” as we crossed the golf course.
