Ce viaduc, utilisé par la ligne SNCF, a été réalisé par l'ingénieur en chef Wilhelm Nördling et l'ingénieur français Llyod entre 1863 et 1865. L'ouvrage est d'une conception très dépouillée. Un élément de fer horizontal : le parapet à croisillon. Des éléments verticaux en maçonnerie : les piles qui le soutiennent et les culées.

Na een foto op oudejaar 2024, duurde het ook in 2025 niet echt lang vooraleer ik terug langs de sporen kon plaatsnemen.
Ik had namelijk "vrij" op donderdag 2 januari 2025 en had voor die avond vooropgesteld om een foto te gaan nemen in het nieuwe station van Mons. Wouter die ook van mijn plannen had gehoord, ging graag mee en zo stonden we ruimschoots op tijd klaar in de door Calatrava ontworpen spoorwegkathedraal.
Dat de uitverkoren trein - ja hoor de OuiGo van Brussel naar Parijs, niet op het geplande spoor 4 aankwam, was makkelijk oplosbaar.
Het was wel spijtig dat de NMBS die avond ook had besloten de graffitibekladde 1865 in te zetten als tractievoertuig en ook de twee I11-rijtuigen net achter de loc waren niet echt hetgeen ik op gehoopt had.
Nou ja, het is niet anders en dat geeft natuurlijk ook wel de mogelijkheid om nog eens terug te keren ;-)
[M] Graffiti werd digitaal verwijderd op de zijflank van de locomotief.

After a photo on New Year's Eve 2024, it didn’t take long in 2025 before I could once again take my place by the tracks.
At the new station in Mons, I had planned to take a photo on the evening of January 2, 2025. Wouter, who had heard about my plans, was eager to join me, and together we arrived well in advance at the station, which is a stunning creation designed by Santiago Calatrava.
Though the intended train—the OuiGo from Brussels to Paris—didn’t arrive at the scheduled platform 4, the situation was easily resolved. However, I was a bit disappointed that the NMBS had decided to deploy the graffiti-covered 1865 locomotive for the evening, and the two I11 carriages behind the loco directly behind it weren’t quite what I had hoped for.
These carriages, while functional, didn’t quite match the vision I had in mind for the shot. Still, it didn’t spoil the experience, and it left me with the possibility of returning for another opportunity to capture the perfect shot in the future.
