Als gebürtiger Düsseldorfer hat es mich schon sehr früh in die Ferne gezogen. Frankfurt, München, Wien, Graz und seit 1999 wohnhaft in Jennersdorf, im wunderschönen Südburgenland.
Im ausgeübten Beruf als Werbegestalter und Grafiker (1966-1992) aber auch in der Selbständigkeit (bis 2012) ist die bildende Kunst immer allgegenwärtig gewesen.
Meine Leidenschaft sind Experimente mit verschiedenen Hilfsmitteln und Materialien wie zum Beispiel:
Kurzfilme mit und ohne Kamera - Kodak-Sofortbilder ganz ohne Kamera - Negativstreifen und Dias anders gesehen - PC-Fehler zur kreativen Weiterverarbeitung verwenden - Digitalfotografie und ihre Möglichkeiten mit einem Apple-Computer kombinieren und verfeinern - und bis heute noch vieles mehr entdecken...

Remember my story and photo of the hour-old Monarch pupas? Here one is, day 12. He and his younger brother came out this morning, just 35 minutes apart. It was oh so good to have them on a milkweed plant instead of my gas pipe or front door shingle, although the sunlight wasn't helping.
Just a word about the challenges of this moment. It's been my experience the more broadside you can get to a small critter, the more chance you have of max focus in this shallow DOF macro world. So, in this case, the little guy is swinging and rotating from shade to sunlight and that elusive focus I want is for me at least only a wish. Second choice is focusing on the head and that's not so easy either when I'm on a foot stool, rolled into a ball myself, trying to see the focus block with the sun on the LCD. All that whining done, I do love these few moments while he's still crumpled up, wings not extended or filled out.
If you noticed some leaves in there with jagged edges, that's actually a rose bush. The milkweed they're on was a volunteer this year that grew up inches from my rose bush and the leaves are all intertwined. Oh, and the butterfly on the door shingle left home on schedule.

The redshank is a large sandpiper with long, bright red legs. It is a typical wader, feeding in shallow water around lakes, marshes, mudflats and coastal wetlands. It breeds on open marshes, mires and saltmarshes, particularly in Scotland and northern England. Look for it typically posed on top of a post, fence or rock in wet grassland or farmland areas.
