Gorzów Wielkopolskie - Na een fijne fotodag in Nederland was het een week later tijd om de plannen voor een aanstaand reisje naar het altijd sfeervolle Polen te maken. De inzet van Wadlopers rondom een door ons geliefd oord deed een tweetal vrienden van mij besluiten gedrieën een reisje te maken. De mogelijke inzet van Stonka een eindje verderop zou de kers op de taart worden als dat zou lukken. De eerste ontmoeting met deze uiterst boeiende treinen betrof mijn reis naar Oekraïne, waarbij eerst een tussenstop werd gemaakt in Gorzów Wielkopolskie. De vooruitzichten op zonnige foto's van deze treinen deden ons besluiten per auto die kant op te rijden, met mijn voorkeur op de eigen wagen. Die moest ook eens op Poolse wegen uitgeprobeerd worden natuurlijk!
Op maandag werd na een avondmaal vertrokken richting Hannover. Aldaar werd overnacht, om zo de volgende dag in alle rust verder te rijden. Dinsdagavond kwamen we dan toe in onze eindbestemming voor die dag: Gorzów Wielkopolskie. Deze plaats ter grootte van de stad Zwolle is slechts op het spoorwegnet aangesloten door ongeëlektrificeerde spoorlijnen. Hoewel de materieelinzet de laatste jaren niet bijster interessant was te noemen kwam daar een tijd terug verandering in. Tussen Gorzów en Zbąszynek (aan de lijn tussen Duitsland en Poznań) rijdt PolRegio met gehuurde wadlopers, waarbij de twee omlopen gereden worden met een SN83 (Wadloper Tweetje) en een SN82 (Wadloper Eentje). De lijn zelf is ook bijzonder fraai te noemen, met diverse leuke stationnetjes voor het typische Poolse sfeertje.
Direct na aankomst zou er een trein met mogelijk een Wadloper uitlopen in Gorzów. Vanop het perron werd de trein afgewacht, die geheel volgens Poolse traditie enkele minuten vertraging had. Enkele minuten te laat doemen dan toch de drie frontseinen op aan de overkant van de rechts nog net te zien zijnde rivier de Warta. Na het uit laten stappen van de reizigers wordt de trein grondig schoon gemaakt, en een kleine controle door de spoorwegpolitie was het dan tijd voor het fraaie treinstel om een halfuur later naar Kostrzyn af te sporen.

RNCX 104 and 105 Cab Control Units are still at the Juniata Shops nearly a year after they were basically finished and painted. I'm not sure what the hold up is with these two.

A U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463, Marine Aircraft Group 24, provides on- scene awareness for a downed civilian helicopter that made an emergency landing on a sandbar in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, Oct. 22, 2018. The Marine Corps helicopters were in the area conducting routine operations when notified by the Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Air Traffic Control Tower that a civilian aircraft had fallen off of their radar. Marine Corps Base Hawaii also launched watercraft to assist with the rescue if needed. This was booked to work 3Z04, 01:00 Hither Green P.A.D. - Derby R.T.C., then 3Z10, 08:26 Derby R.T.C. - High Marnham, but 3Z04 Hither Green - Derby R.T.C. was cancelled on arrival at Trent Junction and the train diverted straight to Marnham.
