One thing I quickly learned about the Pacific North West is that the weather there shifts worse than living in Michigan. With what was lining up to be rain all day was anything but that. With showers definitely coming and going all day, almost every single one was followed by nice sucker holes. 1807 with a large cut of center beams rolls through the town of Lebanon for points east/south. The A&E scheme is simple but catchy and looks good on the GE'zz, now if we could get a nose logo to complete it that would be great.

Seen here wearing the Western National version of the Plymouth Citybus livery is 1807 (A754 VAF), an ECW bodied Leyland Olympian. It is working route 7 to Mount Batten and is on Plymouth Royal Parade.

Barton Transport was one of the major “non municipal” bus operators in the East Midlands. The company was based at Chilwell on the outskirts of Nottingham and gained a reputation for having a fascinating and varied fleet of vehicles during the 1950s and 1960s, with many bought secondhand. Barton was also a prolific vehicle rebuilder fitting new bodies to a number of existing chassis. One thing that was standard across the fleet was the very smart red livery. Barton sold its bus interests in 1989.
A number of the Barton fleet are still in existence and one is 866 (866 HAL), an AEC Reliance chassis fitted with a Plaxton Panorama C41F body delivered new to Barton in 1961 and parked outside the old company main garage at Chilwell on the 5th July 2018. Being a regular user of Barton in the 1960’s and 1970’s I probably have had a ride on this vehicle at some point in the dim and distant past.
