We had a nice drive through the North Wales countryside this morning, with a diversion to Betws-y-Coed to kill a bit of time (stopping in Llanrwst for a cuppa on the way) - then carried on to Holyhead and boarded the ferry to Dublin. We had some lunch, then were just settling down in a seat by the window when I realised the Grand Prix was on on the big screen in the bar area. Tim was delighted! He got to watch pretty much the entire GP (save for the first few laps), and I spent the time reading through my Ireland guidebook and plotting places to visit. Perfect!
Arrived in Dublin early evening and 'checked in' to the apartment we'd booked (the owner met us there to show us around and give us the keys). Lovely place. We popped into the city for some dinner (ended up at an Indian restaurant), then back to the apartment and sat out on the balcony with a beer watching the sunset :)
I rose early , breakfasted at the Salutation Hotel in Ambleside then drove back in time for the England game, but not before bringing along some of the posh teabags available in the hotel (see picture) Then it was a day of chucking stuff in the washer and getting ready for the week's English consultancy ahead.
