We made a concerted effort this holiday to go against the grain and spend a good deal of mummy-Joseph / daddy-Pippa one on one time. Every evening the playground area of the cottage garden transformed into Joseph's fire-engine, fire station and fireman's home and Fireman Sam-Joseph and Fireman Elvis-mummy went out on emergencies before returning to the station, doing a bit of cleaning, a bit of exercising, eating a meal and occasionally popping home to sleep.
It is so rare that I get chance to spend extended periods of time 'playing' with J. It was so much fun. This snap was taken gruffalo spotting at the Isle of Wight steam railway woodland walk.

This is a painting I did in December of 1993. Hard to believe that was 15 years ago... Whew!
It's titled "Every Glance Becomes a Romance - A Tribute to The Bauhaus"
(The school, not the group.)
The title was inspired by a lyric in the song "Every Force Evolves a Form" by Shriekback. Matter of fact, I've got a tryptic pencil drawing by that title. Maybe it'll rear its head one of these days...
