A line of very severe thunderstorms moved through this evening, with multiple tornadoes touching down across south-central Wisconsin. Because there was an active warning just a few miles away and there was a real possibility I’d need to head to the basement I didn’t set up my tripod and DSLR but just clicked away with my phone.

Not a photo of my normal level of quality, but I wanted the E-3 in the shot, so what can you do?
This was taken with my iPhone because I am in super packing mode! My wife and I are traveling across the USA to San Diego, CA for a friend's wedding. We leave early in the AM on Thursday! Shown here is everything that will be in my camera bag: from my camera and lenses to memory, remote, charger, etc. I am pretty sure I have everything I need :)
So I am sure some of you are wondering what I will do with my 365 project wile so far away from home? I will be using one shot a day that is within 365 steps of the front door of our hotel, of course! I cant wait to see what shows up at my home away from home for this coming week!
Steps: 0.

SH2-174 is or rather was considered a planetary nebula visible in the constellation Cepheus. The cloud, cataloged as a general emission nebula in the 1960s, has never shown signs of ongoing star formation, nor was the ionizing star of its gases known; during the 1990s the hypothesis was put forward that it was a planetary nebula, whose central star slipped out of the gaseous envelope it created over time, given that its dimensions were too small to be an H region II, but comparable to those of a normal planetary nebula. This ionizing star would be the white dwarf cataloged as GD 561, located outside the cloud.
If it was initially believed that Sh2-174 was a planetary nebula, the latest detections have meant that it is now considered an ionized interstellar medium (ISM) located 930 light-years from Earth.
Taken on several nights from 6 to 14 July 2024 in 2 different locations, I used 2 narrow band filters, the Ha at 7 nm and the OIII at 6.5 nm, for a total of 36 hours (personal record)

I've a pair of old walking boots that I've had longer than my dog and in fairness to them they've been pretty good to me over the years and they've covered some miles, but they've seen better days.
So with the summer coming I've treated myself to a new pair of boots with the intention of making time to go and do some landscape photography and to grab picnics with the kids up in the hills once school finishes for summer.
A quick macro of one of the lace eyelets on my old boots in honour of their long and happy service to my feet.

Busy, but pretty good, work day. It was so hard to wake up this morning, but I felt alright as the day went on. Sat out in the sun at lunch; lovely to be able to do that again after some not-so-great weather recently.
Had a lovely walk over to the heath with my new lens again this evening, and took more photos than intended, again. Ran into our neighbours Lydia and Marco on the way back, and had a long, socially distanced, chat with them.
