The last ever Sussex Bus departure on the 31 to Uckfield on 30 September, with Dennis Trident/Alexander MSV 617 from the parent Heritage fleet being given the honour, seen here in Haywards Heath in rapidly fading light. The following day would see Compass Bus put brand new Enviro200s on the route, following their purchase of Sussex Bus's services.
MSV had originally been X317 NNO, new to Selkent as TA317 and latterly 17317. It was one of a pair bought for schools work prior to Countryliner going bust and Sussex Bus being set-up. Both MSV and the other one (TFK 696) would often deputise as necessary and in the early days of the 40X (when it avoided the low bridge) would frequently see them on that service, mainly during school holidays when presumably the regular buses were off being serviced.
Not showing on Realtime the arrival of this working was a bit of a surprise.

I got a 90's Barbie® fever~! I've now come full circle, back to collecting the dolls that started it all for me, lol.
Growing up I never got the chance to own a doll with the 'Bend and Move' body, and I said if I'd ever go back to collecting the older dolls I might as well go for the ones that are articulated, lol.
I really love the wild 90’s style of the Workn' Out dolls and that track and commercial are forever stuck in my head!<333:

Looking down the Tame Valley Canal towards Perry Barr Third Flight Bottom Lock and the former General Electric Company Electromagnetic Chimney, in Aston, Birmingham, West Midlands.
The chimney is all that remains of a General Electric Company factory built on the site in 1902 which manufactured various electrial goods but largely high voltage switchgear. The site is now a business park, with the factory itself being sold off / closed from the late 60’s onwards.
The canal was authorised by Act of Parliament in 1839 and opened in 1844. Its engineer was James Walker.
The canal runs from Tame Valley Junction where it joins the Walsall Canal near Ocker Hill and Toll End, and terminates at Salford Junction where it meets the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal and the Grand Union Canal. It is 8.5 miles (13.7 km) long and has twin towpaths throughout.
Between Tame Valley Junction and Rushall Junction it goes under the Midland Metro near Wednes-bury and crosses over the former Grand Junction Railway (now part of the Chase Line) by aqueduct, near Tame Bridge Parkway railway station (an unusual case of the railway pre-dating a neighbouring canal).
It passes over the M5 motorway near the interchange with the M6 motorway (M6 junction 8) and joins the Rushall Canal at Rushall Junction, inside the triangle formed by the motorway junction. East of Rushall Junction the canal passes under another arm of the M5. At Hamstead the remains of a wharf can be seen, this served the former Hamstead Colliery. Further east, there are two more aque-ducts (Spouthouse Lane and Piercy, the latter over the Old Walsall Road), and a deep cutting in 200-million year old sandstone, under Freeth Bridge (now restricted to pedestrians and bikes only) at Tower Hill. There are no locks on this section, which is at the Walsall Level, but it passes over eight aqueducts within five miles (seven of which are original).
The thirteen Perry Barr Locks, where the level drops 106 feet, start just beyond the A34. The original lock keepers cottages remain. In the adjacent Perry Park, near Alexander Stadium, is Perry Reservoir, a feeder reservoir fed by a stream from the lake at Great Barr Hall. From there, the canal passes under the M6 three times, including Gravelly Hill Interchange (Spaghetti Junction), shortly after which it terminates, at Salford Junction.

Centro Cultural Internacional Oscar Niemeyer. Aviles, Principado de Asturias España
Arquitecto Oscar Niemeyer 2008-2011
