The German WWII Me-163, the world's first rocket powered plane. The ME-163 took off using only rocket power than returned like a glider. The small propeller at the front of the plane provided electrical power to its system.
This loco was built in 1991 as 162 042-6. In February 2001 its higher speed bogies were swapped with 363 060-5 (becoming 362 060-6) and it was renumbered 163 242-1.
CD 163 242-1 at Ostrava hl n with IC120 (09:20 from Kosice) on Saturday October 2nd, 2004. It will be removed from the train and replaced by 151 012-2 for the rest of the journey to Praha.
