The scenic mountain range runs over 600 km in central Australia. The MacDonnell Ranges, a mountain range and an interim Australian bioregion, is located in the Northern Territory and has an area of 3,929,444 hectares. The range is a 644 km long series of mountains in central Australia, consisting of parallel ridges running to the east and west of Alice Springs. The mountain range contains many spectacular gaps and gorges as well as areas of Aboriginal significance. 300-350 million years ago a mountain building event created the MacDonnell Ranges. Since that time, folding, faulting and erosion have shaped the range and created numerous gaps and gorges. The ranges are composed of many rock types, but are most famous for their red quartzite peaks and gorges. 16190

The next morning, finding a decent spot for the night train from Warsaw to Szklarska Poręba was not easy - until I found a picture online that was similar to this one. The train perhaps looks a little small in the composition, but I do like the view into the far distance offered by the railway. Of course, from this far away I have no details to offer about the loco. Witków Śląski, 25-06-2025.

The view was broad enough to take the train from two different angles. I personally like the earlier one better, but here the train itself takes centre stage. On the left, up on the hill, is still the same Church of St. Anne from the previous photo. However, I have changed the location in the title as it is now ever so slightly nearer Jaczków than Witków Śląski. Jaczków, 25-06-2025.

Challengers...

This past summer Karen and I went to the car show with my friend in his 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible, the car is all original with no modifications. As we rolled down the street we attracted a lot of attention. not just because it is a very loud and gutsy car but also because it is so rare...

When finally we pulled into the car show a guy in a 1970 Convertible Challenger pulled up behind us and then proceeded to follow us through the car lot, parking right beside us. Pretty soon there was an entire row of Challengers; most of them the 2013-2017 model, but its was very impressive to see the row of cars..

This is a shot of them side just by side before the show ended.

The number of double deckers on Aberdeenshire Schools contracts is increasing under the North Scotland regime.

They had been phased out for high capacity single deckers and artics under previous management following the high profile toppling of 16190 at Laurencekirk.

The Icelandic horse is a breed of horse developed in Iceland. Although the horses are small, at times pony-sized, most registries for the Icelandic refer to it as a horse. Icelandic horses are long-lived and hardy. In their native country they have few diseases; Icelandic law prevents horses from being imported into the country and exported animals are not allowed to return. The Icelandic displays two gaits in addition to the typical walk, trot, and canter/gallop commonly displayed by other breeds. The only breed of horse in Iceland, they are also popular internationally, and sizable populations exist in Europe and North America. The breed is still used for traditional sheepherding work in its native country, as well as for leisure, showing, and racing.

Developed from ponies taken to Iceland by Norse settlers in the 9th and 10th centuries, the breed is mentioned in literature and historical records throughout Icelandic history 11 -16190

Recently rebuilt (February 2017) WDP1M 15010R in platform 4 of Bathinda Junction with train 54641, the 07:10 Delhi Jn to Firozpur Cantt. Jn Passenger. Monday 12th March 2018.

At this point I'd not yet had one of the rebuilt examples but with a free morning around Bathinda later in the trip I expected to. I'd been told they were better sounding than the original WDP1s, although I thought they were virtually identical when I did get to have a few. The only noticeable difference in sound being a discernable weak-field stage - a fleeting overload/underload blip at around 80 km/h. They were significantly less smoky though.

New to R. Bullock, Cheadle, Cheshire, in 01/1999, this Stagecoach Manchester Olympian is seen here on display at the Morecambe depot of Stagecoach(North West) during their open and running day on 23/05/2009. This Olympian had passed to Stagecoach Manchester, in 04/2008, when they had purchased all of the commercial bus operations of Bullocks except route 147.

The camera being a Pentax MZ-M with the film being what I think is a Boots Colourslide. There are no markings on the slide frames.

16190 at Macduff. The flattened roof panels a reminder of its toppling three years ago while at Stonehaven.

The Insch Olympians are for Huntly school contracts which usefully interwork with other duties by and large. 16190 is unique in being of the later Palatine 2 bodywork is confined to the school run only and I suspect worked the 644C to Colpy. Seen here shortly after returning back to Insch depot with 16153 which had on that day been the depot spare.
