The porous underground of the Pokhara valley favours the formation of caves and several caves can be found within city limits. In the south of the city, a tributary of the Seti flowing out of the Phewa Lake disappears at Patale Chhango (पाताले छाँगो, Nepali for Hell's Falls, also called Davis Falls, after someone who supposedly fell in) into an underground gorge, to reappear 500 metres (1,600 feet) further south.

Op zaterdag 19 april 2008 organiseerde de Eifelbahn Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (Zugtouren.de) uit Linz am Rhein de 'Frühlingsdampflokfahrt zum Nationalpark Edersee'. De rit voerde vanaf Köln West via Köln Hbf naar Linz (Rhein). De tractie werd verzorgd door loc 212 309 van de Rheinische Eisenbahn GmbH te Linz am Rhein. Vanaf hier werd de trein door loc 01 118 van de Historische Eisenbahn Frankfurt verder getrokken naar Niederlahnstein en over de Lahntalbahn naar Wetzlar (Güterbahnhof). Loc 212 309 ging mee als 'Schiebelok'. In Wetzlar werd loc 52 4867 van de Historische Eisenbahn Frankfurt voor en loc 52 8134 van de Eisenbahnfreunde Betzdorf e. V. achter de trein geplaatst. Aldus ging het verder via Giessen en Marburg (Main-Weser-Bahn) naar Sarnau Betriebsbahnhof, om vervolgens via de Burgtalbahn naar Frankenberg (Eder) en vervolgens via de nog niet geopende Untere Edertalbahn naar Herzhausen aan de Edersee te rijden. Omdat de spoorlijn naar Korbach nog niet berijdbaar was, werd - tender voor - weer teruggereden naar Sarnau, om vervolgens via de Obere Lahntalbahn (Biedenkopf - Bad Laasphe - Erndtebrück) en Kreuztal naar Siegen te rijden. Hier werden de stoomloc's afgekoppeld en mocht loc 212 309 de trein alleen via de Siegstrecke weer terug naar Köln (Hbf) brengen.

Loc 01 118 rijdt door het station van Löhnberg met trein DPE 91854 (Köln West – Linz – Herzhausen). 'Schiebelok' 212 309 is niet zichtbaar. Links de 'Alte und Neue Mühle'.

Weil die Eisenbahnstrecke nach Korbach noch nicht befahrbar war, wurde - Tender vorne - wieder nach Sarnau zurückgefahren, um ab da über der Oberen Lahntalbahn (Biedenkopf - Bad Laasphe - Erndtebrück) und Kreuztal nach Siegen zu fahren. Very pleased to see this link is now back to Alco power (after reports of it being an WDP4), meaning I had a very productive day that went completely to plan (a minor miracle these days): Moradabad Jn to Muazzampur Narayan Jn via Gajrula with GD WDM3A 16062 on train 15011, WDP1 15001 to Kotdwar and back to Najibabad Jn on the Garhwal Express for 11269 back to Moradabad. The early finish was most welcome too.

...although another implication of 14114 being an Alco was that the rest of the link involving 14120, the Dehradun - Kathgodam, would be Alco as well - I'd previously given up trying to get Kathgodam in as just too difficult or plagued with rancid EMD uncertainty: I hurredly booked a sleeper coach reservation on 14120 for the next day (still available!) and set the alarm clock for 03:00...

Taken at just around the same spot, but just under 18 years after, the previous photostream entry.

16124 started out in London with Selkent and orginally featured a LT-style roller blind display. Subsequent cascading on saw it gain a single piece digital display, but set much lower than standard, making it (and others that got a similar treatment) look rather odd.

The display is even more noteworthy in this picture in that it isn't actually working. A paper windscreen sticker indicates that 16124 is working a former Bullock's service.

From Dhuri the train would take a sharp right turn and head south towards Jakhal Junction and New Delhi, where an electric would take over as far as Akola Jucntion for another diesel forward.

This vehicle was one of two Stagecoach Manchester vehicles which attended the London Bus Day in 2009 as both were new to the Stagecoach London operation before being cascaded to other operating companies.
