Toyama, 23 May 2025.
The Toyama Chiho Railway is another private rail operator in Japan with an interesting and varied fleet. This train set dates from the 1970's and was new to the Seibu Railway in Tokyo. In the mid 1990's it passed to the Toyama Chiho Railway. Here it is used as the Alps Express train towards the scenic mountains near Toyama.
The last summer holidays these two will probably see. The closest you can now get to a "sister" shot you can manage with 16013 recently going to Barnsley and 16011 being de-roofed years ago.

Schon längst Geschichte ist die Thüringer Nebenbahn von Gotha nach Gräfenroda. 172 749 und 149 erreichen am 24. Februar 1991 mit dem P 16013 Frankenhain.

1. My daughter loves to wear my first Rolex (the watch that I saved for a decade to buy it), a 1983 Oyster Perpetual Date Rolex Chronometer in steel Reference 15000 (34 MM), stainless steel Oyster bracelet. Since owning my first Rolex she is fascinated by high end watches too.
2. Vintage Oyster Perpetual DATEJUST Rolex Chronometer in steel Reference 16030 (36 MM), stainless steel Jubilee bracelet. My father was a Rolex watch enthusiast too and wore this Rolex every single day. Because so much effort, time, research, and money went into the purchase of this watch, it deserves to be worn every single day, he said.

From my godfather I have inherited this 1984 Rolex reference 16013* (36 MM) OYSTER PERPETUAL chronometer 18k Yellow Gold & Stainless Steel Datejust Gents Wristwatch, ivory pyramid dial with 18k yellow gold applied roman numerals, date at 3 0'clock, an 18k yellow gold fluted bezel, an 18k yellow gold and stainless steel jubilee bracelet with a deployant clasp, automatic movement and sapphire glass. This watch is my son's favorite. My youngest will get it one day.

Stagecoach in East Kent 16025 P825GMU on route 89 to Elvington and Dover.
This vehicle was new to Stagecoach East London as VN25 in 1995 and is now based at Dover again after a short spell at Assford. It came to Dover in 2011 from Stagecoach in Cambridgshire along with similar vehicles 16011 P811GMU, 16021 P821GMU and 16022 P822GMU, while similar vehicles 16012 P812GMU, 16023 P823GMU, 16024 P824GMU and 16026 P826GMU are now based at Assford and similar vehicle 16013 P813GMU was based at Folkestone.

I do still hate everything about this shit that is new Flickr and always will, but an inability to find another outlet for my work that is as easy for me to use as the Old BETTER Flickr was, has forced me back to Flickr, even though it goes against everything I believe in.
I don't generally have an opinion on my own work, I prefer to leave that to other people and so based on the positive responses to my work from the various friends I had made on Flickr prior to the changes I have decided to upload some more of my work as an experiment and to see what happens.
In Stagecoach "Stripes" livery in Emmanuel Street, Cambridge, is Cambus Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties 16013 (P813 GMU). New as East London VN 13, it had come to Cambus in November 2003 from fellow Stagecoach subsidiary Viscount.
Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra in the outskirts of Agra, the Imperial Capital of The Mughals during his time is a unique and imposing structure. It occupies 119 acres of land adjacent to the settlement of Sikander Lodhi, Sultan of Delhi after whom the place is known. The actual tomb is housed in a five storied mausoleum building surrounded by fort-like walls with four gates, but the Southern gate facing the Grant Trunk Road is the main entrance to the complex. Following the Mongol tradition, Akbar selected the site for his own grave, designed it and initiated construction a few years before his death in 1605. However, the construction was completed by his son Emperor Jehangir in 16013.
This image shows the elegant and artistic Southern Gateway of Sikandra. Akbar has tried to incorporate Hindu, Muslim and even Christian elements in the design of his own tomb, signifying his well known religious tolerance. Consequently, Islamic calligraphy and verses from The Quran, which had characterized Islamic architecture from Qutub Minar to Humayun’s tomb and the Taj Mahal are replaced by floral patterns and geometric designs. The two storied red sand stone structure is decorated tastefully with white, black and yellow stone inlay and arabesque work and stucco. The four marble minarets with chhatris on the top at four corners of the gateway seem to have inspired the designers of Taj Mahal.
And now for something completely different. A four minute video of a steam railtour in northern France.
L'Etat pacific 231G 558 pauses at Glos Montfort station for a water stop on a Paris Austerlitz to Rouen (via Mantes & Evreux) steam railtour. From Glos we took the east fork at the junction north of the station and back down to the Seine valley at Sotteville before entering Rouen on the electrified Paris-Rouen main line and terminating at Rouen Rive Droite station.
A variety of diesel and electric motive power, including BB 67461 & Jacquemin BB 16013, is seen at Rouen including an amazing cavalcade of 16 shunters, led bu BB 64003, passing through the platform!
231 G 558 was built in 1922 for the État and subsequently rebuilt and modernised. It had a career pulling express passenger trains on the Paris-Chartres-Bordeaux, Paris-Niort, Paris-Saintes, Paris-Cherbourg, and Paris-Le Havre runs. It pulled its last train in September 1968 when it was moved to Angers. In 1969 it was used in Dieppe as a heater for ferries. The SNCF wished to sell the engine for scrap in 1971, but the depot manager in Sotteville, near Rouen, got the engine transferred to his depot in 1972. After five years of campaigning, the engine was sold to the depot staff for the token price of one franc. The engine was listed for preservation in June 1984. After 8,000 man-hours of work, the engine was certified for mainline use on 30 May 1986. 5 months later here she is!
This Sunday's visitor from Folkestone was another unusual one, this time in the shape of Northern Counties Palatine 1 bodied Volvo Olympian 16013.
On a school weekday, route 18 throughout the day is still a good bet to find one of East Kent's diminishing fleet of Olympians.16013 here passes through Wheelbarrow Town on the scenic route from Canterbury to Hythe.The date is 16th May 2013.
