the number of photographers i could understand - the sight of hundreds of monks lining up patiently for their alms was pretty amazing. but the behaviour of several of the tourists - especially the thai ones - left a lot to be desired. and by being part of the whole melee, what effect was i having on the culture and tradition of the monks and the townspeople? not too much, i hope. at least, not as much as some of the other tourists.
